For everyone who likes the FIPK... here is the cheapest place
A bunch of people have said they got it or see for $230. I found it for $203 here.. I don't know how much shipping is, though. I'm trying to find it out now by going through the ordering process.
I think I'm gonna end up getting this instead of an Injen CAI. We just get too much water here.
Also interesting to note, they have the new K&N Typhoon below on that page, and it's $299. Then they have the Typhoon short ram intake for the same price, and it says it gives you less gains than the FIPK, which costs less. Weird, eh?

yeah, i was reading all the posts about the FIPK.... I was leaning towards it, but it seems like only automatic cars buy them.... I have an EX 5-spd and I've heard short ram dont do jack, but thats a "K&N" short ram... Oh well, I'll just wait for my hookup on the AEM CAI for
$60!!! hahaha....

I think the 14 hp was on some jeep or something. I don't know, but I wouldn't guess it adds more than about 4hp at the most. Some people say you lose some low end, others say you don't.
I'll let you know if when I ever get one.
Oh yeah, about the auto or manual thing, I'm pretty sure it works for both. Short ram intakes do as much for manuals as they do for autos, as far as I know.

nah even the HP 4-1 wont do it.
I dont think 200 on the FIPK is worth it.
*shrug* none of these intakes do much for hp gains anyway. especially in term of daily driving.

I got mine at Performance Center, where the guy linked to. Same price but they threw in free shipping. The dyno chart that comes with it shows 3.5 to 4 HP from around 3500 RPM and up. That's probably about right.
As for daily driving, I've tried 4 different intakes and this is the only one that shows me any advantages. Of course that depends on what kind of driving you do, but when you are going 70 on the interstate and kick it down to pass a truck, you can tell the difference in power. That's what I was interested in. If you're drving a stick and on curvy back roads and keep your RPM's up by shifting, you'll also see an advantage.
BTW: Be sure and drive a while after you install. It took about 500 - 600 miles to really see the improvements. And if anyone tells you the gas mileage goes down, that's not true. After I got done goosing it too much just to see how it ran and listen to the sound, I am getting as good gas mileage as before. That's 31-32 around town and 73-38 MPG on a long trip at 70-80 MPH pretty steady.

but yea, IMO intakes arnt really worth the money. sri loses low end, cai loses top end (i think thats how it is.) so i'd rather just keep the stock airbox on
SUMAMA...
if u knew what u were talkin about, you would know that the HP 4-1 RACE header provides 14 hp. now if u combined that with a few other mods, such as an intake, or spark plugs, or something, thats good enough for 16+ hp. please dont make stupid replies to this website.
