My yonaka catback rattles quite a bit, its audible outside the car as well as super annoying inside the cabin, especially in the passenger seat. I assume the exhaust is vibrating up against the chassis, do you guys have any recommendations on longer (?) exhaust hangers or other fixes for this? Could there be issues with my cat as well (damaged heat shield, vibrating, etc)?
I'm almost willing to bet it's this part of the muffler vibrating up against the underbody. You'll have to go under the car and inspect it though. How I found out was I started at the back end (most accessible) and shook the crap out of the exhaust until I found where it was hitting
I had that exact issue on my 2002 with my A'PEXi World Sport 2 exhaust. I tried using polyurethane exhaust hangers, and that alleviated it a little, but not enough. I ended up wedging the old rubber exhaust hanger (or maybe a piece of it that I cut off to fit? I don't quite remember anymore) in between that edge and the underbody and didn't have an issue for the next 13 years (did the exhaust hanger thing late spring 2004, donated the car October 2017)
