Motor difference?
Motor difference?
I have a 2004 Civic Ex with a blown motor and found an 01 Ex motor for it locally on craigslist. Is there any difference in the 2 motors? Will it drop right in and replace the 04?
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Motor difference?
I thought we already discussed this...
Yes you can, definitely.
But it's illegal unless you have an '04+ motor going in...

What about the EGR valve guys?
I heard older models don't have them.
If you do buy one without one, then you'll have a check engine light since the EGR plug won't be connected into anything.

Re: Motor difference?
i swapped an '05 'a2 into my '02 es1 dx. i used the original harness, ecu, exhaust and o2 sensors and hooked up an apexi vafc2 for vtec. by doing it this way i saved alot by not having to purchase all new sensors and exhaust. i also fabbed an egr block off plate and i taped over the check engine light. pm me if you have any questions
