Ebay exhaust systems

I see a bunch of exhaust systems ...Headers all the way to the catback on ebay for a couple hundred dollars. Are all of them rice burner loud?

I want something that flows a little better than stock and isnt obnoxiously loud for a commuter car.

The ebay sellers/brands i see are:

DPT
GreyElephant
JDM SR*S
Blox racing
JVT racing
JDM N-1 Extreme
Tenrai
Glazious
High Flow racing
SRL (Street Racing Life)

Re: Ebay exhaust systems

I think the KO Speed system is the absolute cheapest. Anyone have any clips of it on an 04 EX?

Re: Ebay exhaust systems

I bought one of the ebay cat backs and it was crap. loud as hell and the pipe that comes right off the cat was bent totaly wrong and hung really low. I couldnt even lower the car without it hitting the ground.
Exhaust really dont do much for our cars other then make a sound. to me it was a waste of money and you get what you pay for.

Re: Ebay exhaust systems

You get what you pay for like said above. Ebay systems are made cheap and sold cheap. Your better off to spend around 500 dollars and get a nice catback off dezod.

Re: Ebay exhaust systems

asvarelaem2 which seller did you get your header from? billkisme which seller did you get your cat back from.

My oem system is shot. The flange between the catback and the cat pipe is rusted out pretty good.

I also have a head gasket that needs replacing so i figured, the headers were a no brainer and saw the dirt cheap prices on full systems.

The car is a commuter car (75miles round trip) so i dont want anything remotely loud, just thought i would inquire because they were so cheap on ebay. My car is lowered a little with Vogtland springs and Tokico HKS shocks/struts.

Thanks for advice guys, if anyone has any more input, keep it coming.

Re: Ebay exhaust systems

An extra 300 dollars will get you a brand name catback exhaust that will last 5X longer than the ebay one, and sound way better too

Re: Ebay exhaust systems

i just got my ebay catback in today...2.5 inch piping...it's saturday in the afternooon...so fml i can't get it installed today...bolt on my ***......i'm hoping it will fit...my car's pretty low and the muffler looks huge!..anyway..i'm the kinda person who believes in physics...not brands...wider pipes = less work for the engine to do...now as for back pressure...i'm wondering if 2.5 was too big...i know 3" was...but Fu** it...it's over and done with...if it sounds loud...well screw it...i member i had an annoying *** mufler when i bought the car and got lots of attention from other honda boys...so...at least i have a full cb now..to back the noise.

Re: Ebay exhaust systems

Post up some pics when you get it installed and let us know what you think of the sound. I still havent decided which route i want to go. The "get what you pay for" route is obviously logical....but with today's technology and manufacturing capabilities....it doesnt always hold true.

That's partially true. Brand names have a lot better quality control on their products, where the off brands typically have little to none. As well, the off brands produce things very cheaply. Name brands tend to not spare much expense on the materials used in their products. The welds, the quality of the materials in a catalytic converter, cheaper pipe materials (lower grade steels/aluminum), etc..

If I were to buy a muffler, I must just get a cheap ebay one. However, since I don't like their sound, I would much rather get a name brand muffler. When I put an exhaust system on my car, I'm going with a good company because I don't want to have to replace anything any time soon. Personal preference.
