Rep Power: 0 2002 LX coupe...HP increase info.
Hey. Im new here, and i just bought a 2002 coupe LX. 115hp isnt exciting me much, so i was wondering what would be my best bet to get a little more bang into the car. I was thinking like, cold air intake, and somesort of exhaust system? i do not know much about all this yet, although i know a little about cars. I dont want to put too much money into it, but i would like any suggestions for my needs. all i want to get it to is like 130hp, and then ill be happy. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED! thanks for your time

Rep Power: 0 - get yourself the ex, like someone else said, and shell out the dough to by the whole dc sports system: intake, header, exhaust.
- that's 127 plus 5hp: which will give you a total of 132.
- btw, 115 and 132 is not that much of a difference: our cars are still slow.

Rep Power: 0 I/H/E will give you more than 5hp at the crank.. Bone stock I dynoed at 112.5hp/106.6tq. Now, after intake, throttle body, and a little home porting of my exhaust manifold ports (on the motor), I made 119.6/111.4. Thats 7hp.. only aftermarket part is in intake, 7hp at the wheels = ~10-12hp at the crank. I have H/E on the way... dyno that too. Dunno about the LX since it's not exactly the same w/o VTEC but id expect at least that 12hp from I/H/E/Pulley... wouldn't spend the 3k more on the EX for that amount of power.

Rep Power: 0 sounds funny but at about 136hp over 115hp should give u a second in the 1/4 mile
and my suggestion to acheve that id get a cai, pulleys, and a catback
and if u dont believe me on the times lookup drag calculator on a search engine its not perfect but mathmaticly its correct and will give u something to shoot for if u kind of know how fast u want ur car
also every second u want to drop the hp starts to gain pretty fast

Rep Power: 0 << Why trade for an ex? FYI lx or other base models have more potention in F.I.D than ex. VTEC seems to limit the power that can be gained from F.I.D >>
No, the problem with VTEC engines is they normally have a pretty high compression ratio. There's not really a big diffference on the 7th gen tho.

Rep Power: 0 for more "excitement".. you can..
a. Gude Package - $1700 - 40wheel horse power (guessing..)
b. Turbocharger with fuel managment system - $3200 - check with the turbo thread
c. nitrous oxide systems - $600-700
d. trade the car in and get a turbo car such as 3000gt, supra, 300zx tt or rx-7
