Looking For A HEADER

Hi guys. I'm looking for a HEADER for my 2003 Honda Civic Si to get some more horsepower under the hood.

What are some good name brands and how much they cost and how much horsepower they give to the car.

I'm in Toronto so names of places in the GTA or York region or Vaughan would be greatly appreciated.

Please

Thank you

Not going to see to much gains but there is HP, Megan, DC, OBX to name a few. You will see a tad more throttle response in the midrange and throatier sound. All should be in the range of $150 more or less.

more or less, which one is it

To add you also have Kamikaze which seems to be the best one on the market.

You can find the Megan and OBX for under 150 brand new.

DC Sports makes the short 4-1 (which is the most commonly one found for our cars) which is really not much greater than stock.. not worth the money IMO, which will be upwards of 300$.

DC also makes a 4-2-1 which is similar to the HP header where they both eliminate the cat and replace it with a downpipe resonator type deal. Both are upwards of $300 and more.

Kamikaze is upwards of 350$ + and has the biggest runners... I've read that it increases HP the most.

OBX is just your basic ebay brand, but better built. Mine hasnt cracked or anything and it was about 130$. Looks nice, smoothed out the power band a little, but didnt come with all the necessary hardware to install.

Thats about it I think, next to all the ebay brands for 40$. But those are the suck.

Re: Looking For A HEADER

Kamikaze? never heard of them before.

megan's is pretty nice comes w/ an extra o2 bung on it tubes are a lot bigger then stock or dc sport(same as stock but shinier lol)

But bigger runners are not always better especially for N/A your best bet for power would be something with really long runners and probably different sized pipping with chambers to help with reversion.

from everyone i have talked to that has dealt with HP headers say they are the best but the market for a good set of headers for our car sucks

Re: Looking For A HEADER

the only short header that doesnt rob power is DC sports. its the same size as stock, so technically you wont gain anything either. header is one of those things that is already good on the car. getting bigger pipe header will just slow down airflow and cause power loss.
