Will this intake work?
Will this intake work?
I like the red anodized look. However, I drive an 04 auto lx coupe. I did not want to go with the CAI, because i heard it didn't fit because of the auto tranny.
This intake appears to be in 2 seperate pieces. Wold I be able to remove the second half of the intake at the coupler and attach the filter there and use it as a SRI?
Also it says its for an EX will it work for an LX?
Pardon my naivety.

Yeah the location of the filter doesn't make a difference from an operational standpoint. The only benefit is getting cooler air which translates to more power in the long run. You can just bolt the filter on in the middle, it'll just suck in engine bay air.

Re: Will this intake work?
you should see my intake....lol im using a stock filter airbox but i took the resonator box off and connected a flexible pipe and ran it behind my transmission and boy it picked up some power
Re: Will this intake work?
Ok thanks for all the input guys. I just want to verify that the location of that mounting bracket will fit my car. I understand that since it is an "ebay intake" fitment is something you have to worry about, but as far as EX vs LX the bracket should be in the same location from that factory intake right?
P.S. they also have an auction for another intake that says it fits a DX but it is a completely different shape and in one piece. I guess for my purposes i would be better off with the EX intake and just using the upper pieces as a SRI.
Doesnt look like this DX cai will fit because i have auto trans.

Re: Will this intake work?
DX/LX/EX are all the same so long as it's the same trans..
and just so you know, those ebay pieces of junk will break at that mounting point... and the filter is garbage too

Re: Will this intake work?
Is it really worth shelling out the bucks for the AEM? Since I'm getting the SRI and not the CAI it would only run me like 140 or so...
Also, a lot of people comment on the sound associated with the AEM intake. I really don't want it to be loud. I don't mind if it is a nice deep sound. I'm just not in to loud wining sounds.

Re: Will this intake work?
you never hear it unless you are really opening up the motor (but it is loud
).. I saw like 3 intakes for sale in the f/s section... they're worth the money in the long run of broken crappy e-bay brand.
