gettin a exhaust
i have already searched through all the posts i could find and i am tryin to decide on what exhaust to get.. so yes id id search first and here is what my requirements are first.. i have a 01 civic ex.. with a avenger body kit and my car is bagged. so i need a exhaust system that doesnt hang to low and hit the ground or my bumper.. price isnt to much of a concern for me, i was thinkin about the greddy evo2 but i am guessin i will have to count that one out cus with my body kit and being bagged itw ill probably scrape?? next i was thinkin about a skunk2 n1 full catback exhaust. does anyone have any thoughts on these or suggestions. plz dont flame cus i did search and these are what i came up with now i am lookin for suggestions.. the only reason i am askin is cus i was hopin some1 would know a little more about these and give me some advice since my car is bagged and i have a bodykit cus i am worried about scrapin it bad. if u have any other suggestions on full exhausts feel free to add them. i am also lookin for a suitable header to go with it but not a concern right now.. but thx 2 anyone with some info for me.

Re: gettin a exhaust
Well...since your so low...def DONT get the HKS Hi-Power...I have that and it hangs low....you could always do custom....the greddy i heard is pretty good about not scraping...i dont know about the skunk2
Re: gettin a exhaust
well, if you do end up having trouble, you could always cut higher into the body kit and shorten the muffler hangers. i think you'll be better off if you go to a good shop and get custom piping to get the best look for you because it's hard to get exact specs on how low each setup hangs.

Re: gettin a exhaust
the magnaflow fits right under ur bumper...like perfectly. and the sound is clear, DEEP, and smooth.
Re: gettin a exhaust
another for Magnaflow...no rattling and the fit is perfect, plus its sounds really good too
EDIT: Oh, you might wanna watch one of the clamps tho, cause the way I have mine it hangs kinda low. The different sections are clamped together with U clamps, but if you have a problem you could always have it welded.
Here's the clamp:

Re: gettin a exhaust
well after researchin this exhaust and lookin at it, i think you guys may have changed my mine i really like it, and i listened to the sound clips on magnaflows site and i liked it, not very loud and has a very nice sound to it in my option.
i have the avenger kit on my civic and it is bagged, do u think this will cause any problems, i seen that pic of ur exhaust and it didnt look to low or anything, i am sure i can do something with my bumper if it is to close... if u dont mind me asking how much did you pay for yours, i find them on ebay for like 390 shipped to my house. and one on another site for 330, with 6-30 dollars for shipin so 360 tops... i am also lookin for a header to go with this, any suggestions?

Re: gettin a exhaust
you can always get the shop to adjust the hangers so it sits higher up. and dont get header, waste of $ for less performance. the oem is already perfectly matched to the engine ports. bigger header ports will cause exhaust to move slower, less power. and hardly any sound difference either.

Does the same count for the non vtecs too ?? I mean I have an 04 VP and I am planning to get the exhaust job done too ... so u really think I dont need headers ?? coz there pretty hard to find for nonvtecs too!!!
Thanks for the kool info

Re: gettin a exhaust
it really makes no sense for our cars. theres a very fine line between flow rate and if you go bigger pipes, the air will slow down. everything is already matched to give the most gain with stock. and even so, its only 1 foot of bigger pipes and then its back to the oem downpipe and cat size. our engines dont make enough power to require upgrade header.

Re: gettin a exhaust
The non-EX header sucks and is restrictive. I have an LX, upgraded my exhaust with a stock EX header and downpipe, along with a full catback system. There was a noticeable difference between the two headers, but it gets expensive. If your going with an EX header, you'll need either the random tech downpipe, or the downpipe off an EX, which takes some searching to come across.

I think you need to change that to Most helpful guy period.

Re: gettin a exhaust
I have to second triz on on this one, I have an LX and once I got my aftermarket headers I def felt the difference. Might not be worth it for the lucky one's who have Vtec but if your an LX owner than headers is a good option with an exhaust

Re: gettin a exhaust
triz is right i forgot the lx system is pretty bad. also for some reason the pipes tend to collect carbon and become smaller causing even more problem. its prolly better to get aftermarket header that replaces the cat and try to get the random tech cat welded custom on the bottom.

Re: gettin a exhaust
i have the skunk 2, it sat very close to my stock bumper and i have never scraped with it yet and im lowered with a lip kit, now i had to lower it some cause it would've melted my rear lip when i installed it, idk how much lower your body kit is than the original bumper but this exhaust is very loud and very deep so yeah...i love it

I have the Greddy Evo 2 and I think it sounds awsome. real quiet under 3k rpm and nice and deep when I push the pedal
Only problem is the can is HUGE, so you might have some clearance problems.

its not raspy, n its not soo silent...its deep, smooth and noticable (but not anoying)
...plus, its the ONLY exhaust that is dyno proven to add 5hp/4tq for the 7th gens.
