Accord Shifter Swap for Shorter Shifts?
Ok i was readin an old sport compact car magazine that i had layin around so i decided to read all about kswaps. While reading I found an article about swapping a k20 into an ek civic. Anyways it was talking about which shifter to use when swapping ur k in because the ek uses a gear shifter and the k20 transmission uses a cable shifter or some bs like that. Those details arent important. The important thing is they said you could use an rsx shifter if you planned on taking your car to the track because it is higher and closer to the steering wheel OR you could use 90-97 accord shifter which is shorter. Now there are a couple of things im assuming here. First im assuming that the rsx and em2 shifter are the same. Next I am assuming that the 90-97 accord shifter is a direct swap for the rsx shifter. In the picture show which i will try to scan and post up i can see that the holes are in almost the same places on both shifters where the shifter bolts in, and they both obviously use cables to change gears. So i was wondering one of two things.
1. Will a 90-97 oem shifter fit my car and
2. will an aftermarket 90-97 accord shifter fit my car.
Im pretty sure i could get one from a junkyard for less than the revo SS for em2. THe other bonus over the revo is that the accord shifter is metal instead of plastic like the REVO. Please post comments.

I read it as saying that the accord shifter will fit into the tunnel, where the rsx will sit on top, so it seems to me that the accord and rsx shifters are different. I've never heard of anything like this being done on a 7th gen. I suppose you could try, but i think in the end, it will be a lot easier, and maybe cheaper to just buy the revo.

ok but whats the difference between fitting in the tunnel and sitting on top. If they both attatch in some of the same places and the shifter cable attatches to the shifter. Its just somethin that im curious about. Mostly cuz if u can do it in an ek with a kswap then why cant u do it in our cars?
