Custom made Camshafts

Does anyone know where I can order a set of custom cams for my D17A1 (yes a LX) I want to see if it is possible to put in more aggressive cams nothing too extreme.

I think you can have some reground for diff specs. But custom ones from blanks would be quite spendy i would think.

Where do I start...geez.

1.) We have a SOHC motor , that meens our engine only using one camshaft.
2.) Wtf is nitro? It's properly called nitrous oxide.
C.) Being different doesn't meen wasting time and money. Start off on a proper platform, VTEC > Non-VTEC. Crower makes a cam for the D17A2 and it has been tested/proven to make power.
4.) Good Luck!

5.) Stay the Fvck away from DH-Racing.

well first off I do not have a A2, that is why I ask about a A1, I am glad that you were able to figure out what nitro means, I do not know why you asked because I do not feel like typing out the whole word because I did not think I was dealing with a bunch of dumbasses that could not figure out what that meant. Finally I am well aware what SOHC means. So next time you try and flame make sure it makes a bit more sense.

Let me school you:

1.)Read all his threads..
2.)Hate/Love DH-Racing

There's a reason he's banned from the site and why so manny "old" members hate him, including me.

Cliff notes:
DH-Racing tried to sell us a claimed hp producing parts.. such parts did not fit or needed spacers to be put on. Some guys went all out with full motors that ended up being crap. So much going on with them you don't know about. That WAS a long time ago so its hard to say how your stuff will come out. Read up on how they used to be. BTW, DHRacing Josh isnt with DH anymore he now owns his own company called Fully Built (SRT4s). Dave Hickman is the devil. ENJOY!

yea ive also read that dh racing sucks so much *****. but ive never bought anything from them so im good. and also, the only way i can think of on getting a custom camshaft for the LX is by regrinding it. if you search aroun dfor regrinding camshaft you should read something about its not good for the car. the best way to do this is by getting a A2 block and just get a crower camshaft. to me thats the smartest thing to do but if you want to be different then go ahead.

YEAH THOSE ARE THE LX/A1 NUMBERS. IT SEEMS TO BE WAY MORE AGGRESSIVE OF A CAM. HE CLAIMS GOOD NUMBERS WITH THEM. HE SAYS WITH THE HEAD PACKAGE CAM AND T/B ITS LIEK A 40WHP GAIN. THIS IS WHAT MADE ME SKEPTICAL BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE MADE ANYWHERE NEAR THAT POWER WITH THE CROWER CAMS. BUT THE NUMBERS SHOW WHY AS WELL

its just a much more aggressive cam man. and crower didnt r&d a ported head with theirs so i dont see a reason why a head with a larger cfm couldnt support a larger cam. he replaces the springs and all form what i understand. he is a reputable tuner and has been around for years. he does all work inhouse. he is no crower but he has thousands of happy customers.

quote was for under $1200. that included a PnP head with race grind valves, regrind cam with valve springs, ported t/b he claims 40whp gain 140whp. this is listed for an lx or ex from what i understand

it is very streetable from what he says. it has a good idle and yes you would supply the cam and head and t/b for the work to be done on. he doesnt have any way to edit the ecu to tune. he says that you shouldnt have any problems with dirvability at all. eventually if wanted a good tune form emanage would probably help produce more power. give him a call and see waht he has to say. it would probably help your decision to talk to him directly and ask any questions rather than me relaying our conversation. he is a good guy and is easy to talk to.

DH racing F*&^ed me hard. If I had know they were still around I would have posted up sooner. The reason you have not heard bad things about them is because most of us moved on to bigger and better things after dealing with all the limitations of a D17.

Does anyone know who has the built D17 that was built for me? I was wondering if it even ran once it was installed.
