RSX axle-back install w/ pics
This is also a few posts down in another thread but this way its on the first instead of the third page.
Here we go.
here is the new RSX mufler. I only instaled the axle back for now, the mid pipe is next when i get some more time and a little cash together.

The RSX flange is the wrong size for the civic mid-pipe so we found a flange that was the rigt spacing and my mufler guy Jeff oppened it up with his expander.

Here is a neat thing that I havent seen before. Jeff reheats the old weld to remove the stock flange on the RSX mufler. That way he can re-use the flange someday, which worked out for me cause thats how I got my new flange.

Here is the inside of the mufler inlet all cleaned and ready for the new flange.

We hung the RSX mufler and bolted in the new flange then we shock everything a bit to let it all find its natural position. Once everything was in place and aligned, Jeff tag welded the pieces together.

Here is the flange all welded and ready for final installation

Jeff measured the stock tailpipe and cut a new one out of larger tube to match the new larger mufler core. Using the stock RSX mufler hangers in the EM2 rubbers, the tailpipe aims exactly at the bumper cutout, its just a bit short. You could use a bolt on tip if you want but I like the cleaner and more subtle look of a welded plain steel pipe, less bling.

Jeff welded the tailpipe with the mufler on the car.

Here is the finished product with the car still on the lift. Yes thats a trailer hitch, its for my bike rack and its also the best anti-cop-attention device I have ever found.

1.
it sounds like stock but a little deeper. Very quiet
2.
When was the last time you saw a racer wannabe with a trailer hitch? Its like having a "I love the library" sticker on your bumper.
3.
It makes more bottom end power then stock without being annoying or obvious. I have the tip, just didnt use it, I might ebay it or something. If one of you guys wants it $5 and whatever it cost to ship it. Chrome tips arent really my taste.
