yah not all that impressive really, looks like it gained 3hp and around 3lbs of torque. I think that particular intake can be had for pretty cheap on ebay and at least it does appear to provide some gains.

the low end sure crapped out didn't it?
actual gain is good. its better than no gain. BUT, that depends on how they dyno it. if they dyno it with the hood open and with a big fan blowing air in.. er.. no. who the heck drives with their hood open?
I still dont think you get squat with bolt ons. if you do get the 5 hp with I/H/E... it better be EVERYWHERE in the power band. not just at like 4,500 rpm and the rest is loses like 10 hp/lb.ft of torque.
I think, if you want actual performance... look elsewhere from the basic bolt ons.

The Single best bolt on Mod for our cars is an Injen CAI.. Greatly improves Low end torque..and you gain 3.5 or so Peak HP..Our cars need more Torque more than a few little Horses..Instead of gettign headers.. Exhaust..pulleys.. I'd rather spend my money on the suspension.

Yes it is legit, That car belonged to Jdock. The dyno test was performed by K&N in riverside, CA.

<< HP is pretty good for just an intake. at least they are documented gains and not some made up number put on a website. >>
Good point...nothing like the exaust on eBay that claimed 40+ HP
Yah 3hp/3lb max gain aint terrible for an intake but it loses some low end so there appears to be a trade off. Im hoping the IceMan will pull through and give a good consistant 5hp/5lb torque increase throughout the rpm range.

What the hell is taking iceman so long? I mean I sent 2 email to them for an ETA, and I even sent an email to the guy who has the prototype.....no answers from either of them.
< Anything better than stock is good!
3 hp is only 2 less than DC Sports intake/header/exhaust combo which netted 5 hp! and you save $800! >
Is this really true??? those three DC parts only give out 5hp wtf?? that sucks if its true!!!

speaking of iceman, there is an iceman groupbuy on gbc with an application listed for 01-02 civics. i don't know if this is for real, but there is a part # for it. the seller is racesearch.com
I will be very disappointed if that is as good as K&N's product will get...that totally changed the civic's characteristics...unlike the AEM & Injen's dyno charts. You'd expect more from a company that has such a big rep. in the industry!
<< Hey SpoonSports, how is the IceMan Intake coming? Get that heatshield taken care of? >>
Hey man, im doing all that i can. Im just waiting for them to install the heat shietld on my car.
<< Why was it tested in third gear?? Should it have 4th?? >>
Cause i belive that your 3rd gear is the strongest gear, it makes the most HP.

Are you sure you sent me an email? I didnt get any...Sorry but they are the ones thats sorta tied up at the moment.
<< Is the R1 a K&N product or some other company's product? >>
No R1 is not affiliated with K&N they are a product line from Hiper Industries. the reason K&N dynoed the R1 is because they wanted to see how well their intake faired against the R1. Please dont ask me about the dyno figures for the K&N intake. I dont have that information at this time. They have not shown me the figures yet. Thank you.
