CF hood street legal?
I'm looking into a carbon fiber hood... I'm not sure if I'm actually going to get one, but I've heard the best brands are Seibon (which doesn't make a hood for my car) and Vis. On the Vis website it says: Does this mean if I got a CF hood it wouldn't be street legal?
Any other info would be great too. Thanks.
-Hood pins are required. Intended for OFF ROAD use only.

You will see the "For Off Road use only" a lot if you look at aftermarket parts. It's called liability and the makers of the products don't want to have to pay out millions in lawsuits...
The only thing I could think of being illegal as far as hood wise is having a HUGE hood scoop. I'd say get one and don't worry about being pulled over

its completely a lawyer thing. It makes them not responsible for ricers not using pins and the hood flying up, the hood shattering in a billion pieces and injuring people, the hood not breaking and going through the windshield, etc....
Just about every part says off road only. It just means you can't sue em if it breaks on the highway.

Every company lists "Intended for off road use only" for several different reasons. One of the largest reasons being that it is very costly and time consuming to legalize car parts through the department of transportation. Companies want to sell their parts before the process is finished, OR they don't intend on doing it.
Another reason is like listed previously, if some kind of random and freak accident were to happen with a CF hood, and you were driving it on a public street, you cannot sue the company because they sold it to you with you knowing that they only say it's for off road use.
I say it's all good, as long as it's secured tightly, you'll be cool.
