Need Intake Help!!
Hiya,
Now i have no engine knowledge whatsoever, so bear with me.
I just bought a 2003 civic lx coupe. Turns out the guy had the factory air filter box taken out and put in a cold air intake.
Problem - It's an intake for a manual transmission and the car is automatic!!
Now here is my question....
I want to buy the Injen Cold Air intake for automatics. Is it just a simple switch intakes job? Or would I have needed the orignal air filter box in anyway?
Thanks for any help

I'm looking into purchasing a K & N Typhoon intake kit...short ram...I just started looking for prices. They claim an ~5.5 HP gain from their system on a 04 civic....anybody have thoughts on this one?
Boost is so good make you wanna slap ya mamma

Ill sell you my old injen CAI for an automatic for $20 plus shipping I painted it flat black it used to be chrome but it got scratched really bad so sanded it really well and painted it flat black. Send me a PM if you want it or if you want more info I am in no rush to sell it really.
Don't waste your money on any intake for the D-Series motor unless you just like the sound. CAI is gonna KILL any bottom end power the motor has to begin with and won't give enough top-end to compensate. When I had the D-Series in my car, I ran a guy with CAI and beat him with my completly stock airbox/header.....find a guy on the boards selling a Stock-Box (should be around $40-50+Shipping) and just drop in a K-N Filter....you'll be happier with the performance.

uninstalling and installing intakes is an easy job. dont take that long. a cold air intake will cost you over 200 bucks. maybe like 230 i think. but then again, the power gains you are gonnna get is probably 1-3 hp gain. that really sucks dude. so dont pay so much for a intake. just go with a short ram. i got a AEM short ram intake for 105 bucks. works great, sounds great. and plus....with a cold air intake you risk hydro-locking. thats when your intake sucks up water and basically your car is ****ed.
