good to see people being sooooo friendly.

dont build your D17 would be my suggestion. everywhere you go, everywhere you look, you will find that D17 parts are hard to find compared to parts for earlier civics, and you will find that its just not a good engine to build on.

seems that your options are basically put a turbo on it, or swap the engine. there was a guy on here looking to sell a turbo kit last week for a good price. i dont think you'll ever get a D17 to be really fast. you can make em quick and fun to drive for sure but you'll never see that thing become some beast of an engine i dont think.

I donno, I am ashamed of my 6th gen right now. i put the hubcaps back on. BUT! i found a complete vtec head for 50 bucks!

I have some 17s, 16s and steelie 14s. 17s i put on my dads 7th 16s i have in the garage and 14s i have on my car. n i dont wanna put out anymore money for 14s =P

Andyman97 is runnin 245whp on 13 PSI on a stock bottom end. Not bad for a SOHC, 101CID, 100whp production 1.7L motor.

i agree andy has seen a 145% increase in power with a stock bottom end! all you guys running around telling people to stop wasting their time are as bad as the v8 guys who told us not to build small honda 4cyl to begin with. now look at what they can do. you may have a larger increase in power with a swap but your also putting more money into the car to do so. on top of that the gains are the same if not better when looked at in a percentage. the fact that the car puts down 100whp stock is the problem. the mods do give sufficient power for what the car started with. you may not have the beast most would like but you do have a fun quick llittle car to drive. which is one of the main points of upgrading any car.
