Budget Ebay exhuast and Header..Yay or NAy
Sup guys
I am a full time college student and I pay for my civic so money is hard to come by. But during this winter break I have been working a lot trying to do little more work on the civic. It's a 03 Ex 5spd with Aem cia w/ bypass also I am want to do a swap down the road, that's why I wanna pay the least amount of money possilbe. I was looking at this header and down pipe package on eay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/T-Pro...26924003QQrdZ1
I was thinking after the downpipe end i would weld a piece at the end of the downpipe and have it exit through the stock muffler. That away it wouldn't be too loud and i get maybe 2-3hp. What do you guys think ? Thank you for all the advice in advance.

If you compare the headers between like OBX, megan, top speed etc, you'd see that they are more then likely all made by the same company in taiwan or whatever with just a different brand stamped on them.

They say they are T-Pro parts on e-bay... but they are really Megan parts. I have bought the down pipe from that exact same store on e-bay.
Don't know how much research you have done but the down pipe will replace your Catalytic converter which is needed to pass state inspection (or at least Texas it is). I have bought the down pipe from that store and installed it. You will throw a "CEL light" because of the sensors in the down pipe. But with a little modification you can get around it.
Now the rattling that "boricua_civic" is talking about does hit the heat plate but I had the rattling before I had the "cat replaced". The rattling started when I replaced the exhaust with the GReddy Evo. The original "cat" was hitting the heat plate but when I replaced the "cat" with the straight down pipe (Megan Racing) there was less rattling. But I took it to a local turners shop and the bent something in to place and that fixed the rattling.
With the header you should be fine. My experience with Megan is great. The fulfillment of their products has fit perfect.
And "gearbox" is right... stock parts do do the same.
Hopefully this has helped. Good luck.

If ur exhaust has a problem just go to a muffler shop and get a custom pipe, mine cost about $150. Just don't spend over $150 if u get custom pipes. But I have experienced megan with my last 7thgen fitment was perfect no rattling. Just try to get a bargain....don't be too cheap thats all. YAY ===>but u won't get any performance outta em.
You guys are saying that i'll throw a Cel, but the header and the downpipe does have O2 sensor fitment. I believe (I couldn't be wrong) we have two O2 sensors one on the header and one after the cat. So I still use the O2 sensors I'll still thow a cel. Thanx For all the replies. I really appreciate the help.

What you’re describing is a LX. There is a 02 sensor in the header on a LX because of the "Cat" being built in the header. The EX has two sensors too... one at the beginning of the down pipe and one at the end of the down pipe after the "cat". And therefore no sensor in the header on the EX. Yes you will throw a "CEL" if you replace the "Cat" with no "Cat".
