question about camshaft

question about camshaft

If i go with the stage1 N/A camshaft do i have to get a cam gear or VAFC2? or can i just get the camshaft a lone and instal and tune?

without vafc2 or a cam gear what would you tune?
You could just install the cam and go but you will not get the full potential of the cam without vafc2 and a camgear + some dyno tuning

and since you still need to tune a stage 1 and have to get a vafc2 you might as well go for the stage 2...same price but you just need the V/R set. idk

stage 2 is aobut ten bucks more then stage 1 and i dont wanna pay for springs and retainers. can i not just tune the camshaft? would that give me decent power gains?

how are you gonna tune a camshaft?? with an adjustable cam gear. My advise would be to get a cam gear as a minimum along with your camshaft. Then get it tuned.

how much power would i get if i just instal the camshaft and not tune it with camgear or vafc2?

This is purely just a guess pulled out of my ***... 5-7hp from 3500 rpm on.

thats not bad i guess. IM the guy from truehonda.com and he said i should see about 7-9 hp gain with my intake, header, and full exhaust. i dont know about that but yea...
