Intake comparisons
Intake comparisons
I've searched for this!!! I got a little confused on which is better. AEM short ram intake or Injen cold air inatke. i hear people say short ram performs better and others say that cold air will perform better. which is true? i know intakes dont do that much to our cars but still...just wanna get it clear.
Yeah unless your going for an extreme all motor set up spending thousands of dollars, or your planning on spraying then you really are better off with stock airbox, performance wise.

i've tried alot of intakes and the only one that felt better than stock (and on the dyno) was the K&N typhoon short ram. I had aem sri, its garbage. K&N fipk is okay, nothing special. Injen was dynoed around 1whp for sri and maybe 3-4 for cai.
You will not be able to tell difference that is the answer.
The only thing that will be different is the sound and looks, performance wise the difference is so small it really does not matter.
I would go with typhoon looks good, people also say it sounds good not too loud, and it does actually increase hp, but again not enough where you would really notice.

CAI > SRI when it comes to "performance"
however, a good SRI like the K&N FIRK II (and typhoon) can compete with the CAI on the market for the 7thgencivic.
injen CAI > aem sri
IMO, intakes actually do something... for me. revs quicker/quicker response.

i know the k&n typhoon intake is a really good intake but i just like how cold air looks under the hood then short ram. i dunno thats just me. i have AEM short ram right now and im startin to hate it. i was thinkin about gettin the injen cold air. the blue ones are nice i think.

it doesn't work unless the whole filter is under water. False security. I would not get a cai unless you have extra money for a new engine.
i dunno. my friend has AEM cold air in his 01 accord. had it on for about...i think over 2 years now. he has no bybass valve no nothin. his car is still running smooth. no problems what so ever.
