megan racing is probably the best bang for the buck....but if you wanna spend 2hundred bucks more for a more popular name brand go for it...probably for the same or less hp.

Kamikaze makes the best shorty header for civic hands down. They are very well known. I've gone from an ebay header to the kamikaze and noticed power difference. They are expensive but worth every penny. Get the ceramic hi luster finish. I can drive the car hard, park, pop the hood, and put my hand a couple inches away from the header and not get burned. Keeping heat in also means more power from faster moving exhaust. Get it here... www.bigjoshracing.com

The people fot truehonda have the HP Racing Special H26 Full header + cat, they said that
"This header is good for about 7-8whp on the D17 SOHC which is a very big number! match that with any exhuast and your doing about 14whp on top just from exhaust parts alone!"

I want a header that really work, I want more horse power

then you need a race header. The HP has bad fitment problems. Either drop the engine out or shave a motor mount. Not worth it imo. DC has a new one out, but I'm not sure how good the 4-2-1 design is for making power on our cars. If you had an lx, the kamikaze would just replace the cat, providing the best performance.

same as the ceramic one gearbox mentioned above except it will probably give out more heat then gearbox's header. so probably you will get less power. but im sure its not a huge difference.

by the way, small bolt ons for our cars will not do much. few members here have I/H/E and they have only gained 5 or 6 whp. they probably spent a grand or a little more for only 5 or 6 whp gain. that sucks. if i were you i would go with crower camshaft from truehonda.com. either that or engine swap or turbo

I know that the headers, exaust sistem and intake are the first things that we like to do, I walk in this way, I only have in my ride the AEM V2,

The camshaft from crower will be a future part for my car, and the turbo is my dream. I need 3000 $ for this setup.

But in this moment I try to buy the best header for my car.

I just use the Megan Racing shorty header and megan racing downpipe. Obviously doing something right. I would be running 14.1-14.3 with just nitrous if I could launch my car right.

If you get a turbo you will have to sell intake, header and exhaust. You can get a good used turbo kit for like 2gs, might as well save your bones.

Usually you need bigger piping for turbo, like 3 inch piping.

Remember if you have an auto with the dc racing header a custom downpipe pipe(or the one that comes with it need a mandrel bent) needs to be made. F' DC sports.

Trust me i made the mistake of doign alot of engine work such as headers, intake, and exhaust in the mean time to settle me untill i get my swap and now that , that time is nearing i realized i wasted my money. The best thing to do, if you do plan on getting a swap or turbo, is just do little things that way you will save money and you can get the swap or turbo sooner. Plus I/H/E dont do much at all for our cars

I know that but I don't have 3K for the turbo now. and I want to be faster than my friends in eclipses or honda whit some modifications.

I like the header from HP racing that sell Truehonda. but firts I will make a test, I will race whitout my exaust sistem, only whit the OE exaust manifold and a litle tubing and If a feel good gain in power I will work for my headers a exaust sistem.

HP racing headers 280$

If you were to spend $3000+ in N/A mods such as intake, headers, exaust, polish and port, ground kit, tunning ecu piggyback, etc you would be very very lucky to see 140 whp. You probably will not get that high, remember we have a SOHC.
Our cars come pretty much tuned from the factory, so adding intake headers and exaust will get you about 10 hp, if that.
So do you really wanna spend all the money for 10hp?
Those mods DO NOT make our car faster, they are for sound and appearence.
If you do not believe me SEARCH.
If you wanna be faster get a turbo, but i would'nt unless you really love your car, otherwise get a faster car.
Go to the track and practice cause you will benefit more than adding I/H/E and also if you were to add 17 inch rims with I/H?E your car would be slower than a stock civic, so that kinda puts things in prospective to how powerful our cars are.
I am not trying to be a hater, just trying to help you not waste your hard earned dough

Dezods is by far the best out there, but it is a little pricey.
you definitely get what you pay for with his kit, the weakest ling is the emanage, but you get alot of value with it, aem ems would be ideal which cost like a grand.
If I were you I would stick too some suspension upgrades or maybe a sound system.
If you must have more power then i would suggest reading as much as you can about turbos, read the FAQ in forced inductions and swap, search this web set as well as the web, also Borders has a couple of books on turbos. Also read all of the Honda tunning books at Borders.
Then after you have read a bunch i would recomend getting a used one off of a member from here or something, just ask around, post a topic asking if its a good buy in the forced induction area.
