Well my car has been sitting in my garage for the past month waiting to get fixed or figure out what exactly is wrong with my tranny. Well i think i have figured out the problem which is the torque converter, now i was told that i can install this myself but wasnt sure if it was worth the time and hassle or just to take it to a tranny shop and let them put it in. Does anybody know anything about this converter? I am trying to decide if i should do it at home or just take it to a shop. My car(auto) wont go into any gear... it just revs and sits there, however it will go into reverse after a few seconds but it wont back up any slightly steep incline. I have been told my numerous people that the problem is my torque converter, so this is why i am asking what you guys think, if its that and if i should just work on it here at home if thats the cause of the problem.... thanks

^^yup... and it's not really that easy of a job. You need to drop the tranny out from under the car.... lots of tools are needed for this.
