FIPK and gas mileage
I am looking at buying an intake for my car. I have a 01 LX Coupe Automatic.
I know that no intake is going to give excellent gains, but from what information I have gathered the K&N FIPK is the best for our cars. But what I haven't found any information on is what has it done for your gas mileage? I'm curious as to if you have gained or lost MPG.
With gas prices going through the roof, I'd like to know before I spend $200 on an intake.

Personally i think the iceman is the best intake. as for gas mileage it will go down slightly or stay the same. most people, including me, say this because you drive the car harder.
From my own experience, the mpg stayed the same with the aftermarket or OEM intake. I do agree with Kornised that usually after people replaced their OEM intake with the aftermarket one, they tend to drive the car harder, that's why they'll notice the mpg decreasing.

IMO its 2-3 mpg lost with the FIPK.
at least thats what I've calculated. I dont drive any different on the times i calculated mpg.
sometimes its the same though. ie: if you keep the rpm low, you'll usually have same mpg as you would with stock. but if you floor it and stuff, u'll end up using more than stock.
I've had the FIPK for years, so yeah.. 01 EX 5spd, around 28-31 mpg. I use to get 30-33 ish.
for the figures above, its 70% city and 30% highway. city being 45-55 mph with stop and go. short trips. and 30% being around 80 mph.
if you go at the speed limit u shouldnt see much difference in mpg.
