Hey guys I bought one of those G Tech Pro meters and it said my civic with an AEM s.r.i and a junk muffler had 122 hp! how accurate are those things?

I'm assuming thats crank HP, if you're driving an LX w. 117HP, then 5HP on top of that, plus or minus here and ther for error sounds about right, sure.

The G-Tech Pro measures net horsepower which is after the effect of drag. The best horsepower measurements will be in the lower gears due to less drag as a result of less speed. On their site, they say that it will be lower than a dynomometer.

I think it is really cool I got it on ebay for $50.00 new instead of $150.00.
it does more than just HP. it does quarter mile times, 0-60 times Gforce and stopping distance. Knipple is right it measures after drig so I think it would me more like real world horse power.I just ordered a header cat and greddy cat back hope to get it in tomarow then I will make anouther run with it.

you have to make sure your weight is accurate for the HP estimate to be accurate on those.. local landfills usually have a scale accurate to the nearest 10lb's and should be free since they just use it to check how much people are dumping..
