injen rd cai or aem v2??
You are missing the point of the V2. It is designed to use sound frequency to charge more air into the intake. That advantage more than makes up for the hot air intake.
Check it out.

I have one, and I wouldn't go back to stock. Of course I've already forked over the $250 (worth it).

Id say get the Iceman it has better low end then the v2 and at least as good top end.....But you do have to relocate the fuse box...It was easy though

Aem tested the V2 witht the hood off thus eliminating any hot air. If sound frequency was that great, then AEM would post that immediately and people would be all over it. With the hood off this would be performing like cai. In real world driving conditions, the V2 is taking more air true, but whats it matter?( its still hot air and sound frequency does ****). No matter how much air is going in its still hot so it wont be good as cold air.
I dont have either intake so i am not posting a biased comment. just my 2 centz

The only way people are gonna hyrdolock their cars through their intakes is if they completly submerge the intake filter and part of the intake piping in water... So, IMO a by-pass valve is a waste of money.
Oh ya, you could only guess what intake i choose

On another note, I chose Injen CAI becuase it's a true CAI (COLD air intake). I dont know much about the AEM V2, but I don't see where they are coming from if all it does is sucks in hot air.
INJEN FOR THE WIN!

You will hear a difference at 3000 RPM and up, any less and you blend right in with stock.
...and water? I doubt ANYONE has ever hydro-locked due to a CAI on a Civic no matter where it was positioned. I took my airbox out and drove through heavy heavy rain, puddles... I just don't get how any amount of water would travel such a distance up a CAI pipe, the heat alone would vaporize any drops. I don't believe the intake is sucking with so much force like a vacuum cleaner. If any of this were true, you'd be hydro-locking on a foggy day. Even if the pipe were submerged I bet your engine would just stall before hydro-locking, cuz of the sudden negative air pressure.
