shift points? shift kit? you wuold probably have to get into the transmission itself to do something like that...... dont know much about auto's but wouldnt it involve swapping gears sets?

only shift kit i've ever heard of for automatic was on older american cars like the Trans Am or something where it shifts harded to actually grab second. My friend had one in high school, it was fun
i think i know what yur talking about...i hear those kits make the car kinda shake to look like its standard...everytime the gear shifts automatically, it makes it shift harder and rought so it appeares that the car is manual....is this waht yur talking about or im i thinking about something different....if so i'm not really sure if they have them for the newer civics
Damn, some of you guys need to do some old school research. Shift kits make the automatic shift when you want it too and shift harder. I believe, and I'm sure I'm wrong, but the kit consists of a different tranny gasket and a different torque converter. The problem with newer autos is that the computer needs to be messed with. They have something close to that with Integra autos. Check out the company Level Ten Performance. They make a computer mod that you can change the shift points. They also make a bullet proof automatic but it's 3G's.

Wow, you guys should check the site out. They have more than I thought. Looks like they do Vic stuff too.

is it sumthing like those slap shifters the automatic RSX's have and crap, i forget what they are called but like every automatic had them now, you just push the thing up and it shifts but its really not real.
Other then that, trade the car for a manuel

I can tell most of you didn't get your start on cars in the Old School Hot-Rod scene...LOL. A "Shift Kit" in an old hydraulic auto allows you to drop the shifter down to it's lowest possible gear and move it through the gears one by one as you want. The kit allows the tranny to to shift alot more firmly. New auto trannies are no where near capable of this. Ok, maybe in a Ferrari but that's electronically controlled. It's a great setup for old muscle cars.

The automatic shift kit that I think you may be talking about are from either B&M or TransGo. But they were mainly made for American cars like GM's , Ford's, and Chrysler cars. I had a 1988 mustang GT 5.0 with a TransGo shift kit in it and basically all it does is reroute the trans fluid thru the shortest routes in the new valvebody so the transmission will shift quicker and hold gears higher in the rpm range. The transmission did shift harder and I was able to make the tire chirp while shifting into 3rd gear.
