I read the same thing a while ago, from what I undertood was all you have to do was boar out your old intake manifold to get around that much power. do a search you will find it =)

i think you bore out and port/polish the cylinders, not the intake manifold. you're gonna have to replace that when comes out. i have no idea when though. most members here are more interested in bugging companies about turbos. you should bug companies about intake manifolds

Its actually porting and polishing along with decking the cylinder head. Someone has already done it to their 01 civic here in colorado.

Porting does more than polishing could ever do. Paying that much extra for the polishing is not worth it unless you are buying old parts from a junkyard.

yeah you dont bore the intake manifold; even boring the throttle body doesnt produce crap so dont do it. i am not going to port and polish for about 15 hp cause that costs like a grand. i have been looking into swaps and stuff but that wont happen for 5 years, at least to my car. i am looking for maintaining reliablitly so i ruled out a turbo but a supercharger would be sweet.

I'd rather hold out for a completely new intake manifold 'cause the plastic piece of crap manifold on our cars is not worth modifying. If someone is able to build a new intake manifold, I would think the same design could be modified to accomodate a supercharger. I don't understand why Jackson Racing is not willing to create an application for our cars. There are over 2000 people registered to this site alone with a large percentage wanting more from their engine...so JR, why not? Our cars seem to react well to bolt-ons...can you imagine how much fun a supercharger would be? Must say I'm a little disappointed with JR. Seems they're missing out on additional profits.

Nopi used to have a JR Supercharger on their web site. I'm not sure if they're out of stock or why it's no longer on there to order, but they still have the Boost Timing Controller.

hahaha

Ya to get 170 hp, you need to do a little more than port the intake manifold, that civic had port/polish/decked/cams/valves/springs/ECU/flywheel/the whole works. And it was 170 whp I think.
