Revo SS install
hey.
i'm getting my revo SS kit tomorrow, but the stuff from gray and capyoda probably won't be here til next week. i wanna put the SS on this weekend, but don't want to go through hell taking it back apart to throw in gray&capyoda's kits. so i guess i want to ask y'all revo owners, how bad will it be to open it back up and put in the bushings, etc. later? should i just wait til i have all the parts? it doesn't look like a hard install, but i don't even know what the other kits will take in terms of work.

make sure you don't overtighten those bolts because the nut is welded under the car, and if you get it to tight that nut will come loose and it will be a paint to get off.... I would just wait until you have everything to do the install...
hah, why does eveyone waste money on the greys and capa yoda kits anyways.I have the revo ss and my frined has the revo ss with greys and capa yoda kits and i can tell ABSOLUTLY no difference. Even in really hard shifts

the bushings make a difference over the rubber stock ones, so thats a good investment, but as far as tightening up the linkage, you can just buy a few washers at any hardware store to put on before the cotter pins....

the rsx aluminum **** fits perfect and looks goooood, you just have to use the boot adapter to make the **** look like its meant to be on there... if that makes sense...
i think i have a pic of mine ill post if i find it
ahhh here it is... if you look, that plastic ring around the boot holds it up so it doesnt look retarded.

^ that's why you should go with b&m!!!! haha, the b&m shaft is much thicker than the stock and the revo one....the shiftboot can only go down till the end of the threads then i'll be caught there and can't go any further down....mine sits flush against the **** and i love it!!

i gave in to impatience and put the Revo in (just now!).
wow.
i can see it will take a little while to get used to, but the throw difference is great.
i can also see why gray makes that kit, the retaining clip does rattle. it won't take much to pull it out and put those in next week though, and i get to drive it now...:P

i used the old cotter pin i believe, i dont think the revo came with new ones.
also if you double declutch and blip the gas you can get it into first a whole lot easier, just match revs cuz i used to have the same thing happen

for me the rattling part is the clip that holds in the main cable. it rattles if you shift hard, like a little 'jangle' kinda sound, not very loud but...it's annoying enough that i want it to stop, that's for sure.
