Question Exhaust/Header suggestions,prices,sites???

OK, here's the story.

A few months ago we got some really bad hail here and my car was setting outside. well just as soon as it started i ran out to put my car into the garage, but.... being the messy person i am, i left all my tools out so i couldnt put my car away. So, i have some pretty bad hail damage but thats ok cuz i had to repaint my car anyways because i have the BC II kit and i wanted my car straight black instead of flaked.

Anyways i gave my GF all my aftermarket parts including my HP race header/cat and Thermal R&D catback.

So, here's the questions:

1.) I have it narrowed down to Tanabe,Skunk2,and Buddy Club catbacks. I'd like some recomendations and prices/sites.

2.) Any better header than the HP race w/cat? Price/site also.

Thanks!

PS I did search so dont hate, but i'd like more specific info than what i've seen and i dont really have the time to real 10gazillion posts to put all the info i want together becuase i'm in the middle of bondoing and sanding my car as we speak. Thanks again all!

1) skunk2 catback sounds real nice. not too loud, not too low. as zell puts it, its more of an "kitty-back". theirs a sound clip of it on this site. skunk2 exhaust start from $400-500 i think. www.importhorizon.com www.robearracing.com www.dezod.com should have it.

2) if you have an EX, hp race header is known to be one of the best. kamakazie*sp* are also known to be good for shorty headers. www.bigjoshracing.com has kamakazies.
are you trying to figure out which would give the best performance? sound? quality?

if you did get your car painted, the new paint would just get damaged sooner or later by the hail.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going for 1st performance 2nd quality 3rd sound. When i do repaint my car it wont see the outside of the garage except for bright sunny days so that wont be a problem.

Has anyone had both the HP and the Kamikaze both with the highflow cats on? WHich of the 2 is better?

What do you mean my "kitty back"?

sorry to burst your bubble but, bolt ons dont give much performance for our d17's. with an intake/header/cat/exhaust combo, you'd be lucky to get 8hp or around that range. our cars hate mods and will always stay ultra low emissions (unless turbo/swap).

kitty-back as in, its not loud enough to be called a cat back. a cat is like the bigger saying of kitty. trying to refer it as kittens and cats. cats are bigger while the kitties are smaller.

My recommendations would be:

Exhaust: Tanabe R-spec- Lightweight, modest gains, great sound. $520 www.dezod.com www.robearracing.com (+3-4 HP)

Header: Megan Racing 4-1 header- better gains than HP, (i've had both, and i prefer Megan Racing!) great sound, lighter than stock, cheap!! $130ish, www.robearracing.com (+2-3 HP)

I would suggest upgrading the downpipe and cat too, Megan Racing Downpipe w/ high flow cat, Lighter than stock, modest gains, great sound! www.robearracing.com (+1-2 HP)

/\/\all that's what i went with. Worth it in my mind. Got the exact sound out of my car that i was looking for with these, plus picked up a lil power too (+5-6 HP all together)

Anyone else have header opinions Megan vs HP for an EX.

I thought the HP was supposed to be better because the long tube style header vs the shorty Megan? Any actual Dynos?
