Is there a high temp insulation?
i mean something substantial not just heat wrap. I thought maybe fiberglass insulation but that is not heat resistant.
My plan was to wrap my AEM CAI since it seems that the main reason the FIPK II is better is that it is better insulated. I figured that if i could insulate the AEM just as well if not better that since it pulls air in from further away from the engine bay that it would get even more power gains.
Any answers or other ideas are welcome

It's a good idea, because the wrap will keep heat away. Someone here (boilermaker?) made an intake by wrapping his ingen pipe and adding a rubber gsr intake hose and filter box. May want to ask what he used.
yep. That stuff doesnt look like much but my buddy used a turbo wrap kit and it convinced my to buy one. After a hard run you can almost hold your hand on the down pipe. Its still hot but your skin doesnt melt off lol. its good stuff

I never got any. The intake I'm getting is plastic anyway. I've heard heat wrap for the header is also good, but it may crack from the extra stress.
