I remember at a meet, this guy with an AEM CAI was next to my car with an AEM CAI. He was wondering why my EX was louder than his EX when we've got the same engine mods. Every car is different I guess.

If you want loud, take off your exhaust. That **** is stupid loud. The difference is night and day.

Or better yet, get a DOHC. Not only are they louder but they sound twice more pleasant than a D17A2 SOHC VTEC. Even the EP3s with intakes without the agressive VTEC crossover sound better than D17A2s. Turn into a compulsive money saver if you have to.

Yes he could have had a CAI too, but at WOT, they both sound the same.

CAIs sound deeper... much deeper, IMO. That might depend on the intake though. From my experience (making my 2-piece CAI into an SRI) the CAI was louder and deeper.

K20A2. At a pre-car show I got to see cars drive around an empty parking lot to waste gas and there was an RSX-S out there constantly going at WOT. His VTEC crossover was loud as hell. There was a Celica GTS who's VVT-i (correct me if I'm wrong) was doin the same. There aren't many Honda engines that are loud with the stock intake from what I've noticed.

Tons of RSX's out there are pretty dang loud wants ivtec kicks in and you can hear it pretty well, do you have anything done to yours? My mom also has an newer Accord(auto) but can probably still beat my a$$ but I definitely don't hear anything from her motor.

We have single cams, rsx's have dual, having an extra cam also helps out in the sound. I guarantee if we had DOHC we would be almost as loud as an RSX. Someone please correct me if I am wrong............yes....no?
