Custom Titanium Piping
Custom Titanium Piping
What I have been wanting to do for a while is replace my HKS Hi-Power Rear Section for customized Titanium piping from the cat and end it off with the HKS Carbon-Ti Universal Muffler. I live in good ole Delaware and was wondering if anyone knows a muffler shop in this area who can mandrel bend and can use Titanium as well. I was planning on customizing the bends to mimic that of the RSR- Ex Mag GT2 on the EVO VIII. The picture of that is below. I hope this is possible, what do you guys think. Is it impossible?

Great idea, but probably fail for numerous reasons. One, Titanium is expensive. VERY expensive and hard to work with. 2) That bend will not work on ours because of the sway bar & wishbone rear suspension. Check for yourself:
"Compared to nickel-based alloys, titanium has lower density and ductility, and superior corrosion resistance.
Titanium’s strength-to weight ratio is higher than any other metal. It is as strong as steel, but 45% lighter. Compared to aluminum, it is 60% heavier, and twice as strong.
Although it’s not easy to work with, and about 3 times as expensive as 304 stainless, Titanium is becoming increasing popular as an exhaust system material because of its extremely light weight, its excellent weldability, and remarkable resistance to corrosion"
Titanium Straight Tubing - 18 gage ( .049 wall ) 2" OD is about $38.00/FT. Your gonna need some bends & someone to weld it all. YIKES!

You also forgot to add that he can't make bends like the ones for the evo 8 because it is a different car, and it won't be the same.
aight i was juss wonderin, ill have to figure out another way of making the straightest possible connection and what other metal would u recommend other then steel, which are lighter and more durable?

No one is going to bend it for you. Its going to have to be fabricated and welded, piece by piece around a corner. I wish your wallet good luck in surviving that.
