Intake?

Whats the difference between a Cold Air Intake, Short Ram Intake, and a V2 intake? I have a stock motor, but I'm getting exhaust when I get the intake (if that matters). Which one would be better for my 2003 Civic Sedan LX? Thanks in advance for the help.

don't waste your money on that stuff, especially if u have a automatic. It doesn't make ur car faster, just louder. I think intake/exhaust made my car slower. you'll like the sound at first, but after a while u don't really pay attention to it anymore, and it just seems like a waste of money. If anything, just get a cheap ebay one or make one yourself. I got a injen CAI for over 200 bux, and its a complete waste of money really. if u want the sound just take ur resonator ou. I'd say wait until u can do some serious mods to ur car like swap or boost. However, if ur going to get nitrous, then get the bolt ons.

and it doens't matter what kinda intake u get, if u do get one, cuz our car doesn't put out much power, so the intake isn't going to do anything. If you had a good engine, like a kseries, it would actually do something.

the only difference is price either about 100 for the short ram or 175-250 for the cold air and V2. intake only give you about 1whp so its all abou the style under the hood and sound that you want. I went with the short ram.....cheap...affective.....and looks great!

Thanks for the help, Another question I have is, if I exchange my muffler out does the new muffler have to be welded or bolted on and how would this muffler sound http://www.matrixracing.com/BI2964Details.htm not sure if thats the correct size but its the same brand name? This guy at a import shop said he would sell me that muffler and install it for a total of $160.

160 is a lot, isn't a muffler only like 80 bux? i think it has to get welded on, u just only have to pay like 20 bux. don't get a muffler , thats a total waste of money too. It all adds up after a while, and then it sucks cuz u don't have any money. You should just make ur car look pretty. LIke get a drop and some rims or something, not get pointless "performance" mods, unless ur actually going to do something serious. Plus u dont want to be a stock civic with just a muffler, that isn't too cool dude
