is it just me or AEM CAI sucks?
I recently got my AEM CAI and it seems like my ride got even SLOWWWER as already is...
It's pretty decent from 1k-4k RPM but after that it seems like it got a hardtime breathing! tafak?
I got a Injen SRI before and it had a pretty decent gain through the RPM whole range! no lag that I'm feelin with my AEM CAI... is it because, the Injen SRI had a 3" diameter all the way to the TB and the AEM CAI had a 3" diameter from middle to end and 2.5" from TB to middle?
Any of you guys have an AEM CAI? please give me some feedbacks on them please! thanks!

haha, yeah i totally thread jacked... i think i'm going to go with the K&N FIPK
now onto your post;
it shrinks down to a 2.5" tube? thats dumb. the injen one is 3" all the way? how does it hook up to the TB if the tubes are 2 different sizes?
heres my take on the AEM... if you are going to make the pipe smaller towards the TB, thats a bad design. if you make air flow through a smaller opening it's going to compress and get hotter (think of the santa ana winds so cal'ers - the wind comes from mountain passes at the 4 corners and the wind flows through the smaller openings through the moutains and compresses and gets hot, so we get hot gross winds). it's simple physics.
if anything, you want the smaller opening towards the front, and gradually larger towards the TB, that way it expands and cools. i don't know how it effects the vacuum though.

That's the another why AEM/DC couldn't make V2 CAI for 7thgen civics due to clearance issues.
Far as this topic goes.
In my personal experiences, CAI performs sooo much better than obnoxious sri's.
Sri's are so much louder on upper rpms, which got me anonyed as hell.
Keep your AEM CAI and you will be happy.
Or get INJEN cai.
I think its better than aem cai.
I put my AEM CAI on last week. It sounds great, but I am right there with you -I swear to god my car got slower. I used to be able to drop it in 4th and bust it up this one big hill, but now I almost need to go to 3rd to stay at a high speed! WTF!? Does anyone else have this problem?

^^^owwwkkkaaayyyyy! but anyway... low rpms are great! matter of fact I believe it pulls harder now with my CAI, but on high RPM's the lag was there, it seems like it had a hard time suckin up air!, my Injen SRI seems to pull all the way through, it seems like the bending of the CAI pipes restricts air to flow freely... this sux!!!
^^yup. That is the exact same way with me. I thought i was having a problem with my filter. But i guess it could be the pipe. I was wondering if you took out the bottom pipe and put the filter right on the end of the first pipe -makin a short intake if that would make a huge difference.
