is there any kind of heat-proof material that can be put between the exhaust pipe and the car's chassis? the only rattle I get is right in the center of the cabin-- the 2nd heat shield. I want to put something between that and the pipe.. any recommendations? someone further up mentioned using a rubber stop, but i would think that would melt under the heat.

you can get layers of header wraps..
there are also sound proofing materials (kinda like dynomat, fatmat, etc.) but of different materila that doesn't melt easily and it also is a form of heat-proofing.. you might be able to find something like that at home depot if u ask for it.. ask for sound proofing material with a degree of heat resistance.
