Ummm it is going to have to eliminate the cat just like the kamikaze. Because on the lx the cat is in the header. Man what is up with people saying pretty stupid things these days. Also even if you got the header from kamikaze for the EX it wouldn't eliminate the cat, cause it is a header not a down pipe smart one.
So does the Kamikaze Header for the EX manual come with or with out the cat? Cause I e-mailed bigjoshracing.com and here is his reply: "The header connects directly to your stock exhaust and replaces your cat."
the kamakaze header for the ex im pretty sure is the same as the hp but not positive. (it is a race header not a shorty like the dc). the kamakaze header for the lx is the race header and i know because i had one. it bolts straight to the downpipe and no mods needed. its a straight bold on. bottom line is. if your ex, hp is mostly used. if your lx, kamikaze and obx (im tryin the obx out as we speak) are your choices. lx w/header.

^^^^^^^
why did you go from kamakaze to obx they are the same headers, obx copied their header design from kamakaze. Also why would you post up a month after this topic has been beat to death? It is has been talked about way to much and more than likely most people already know what you said

GSR Tech, what kind of muffler/cat-back do you have? are you pleased with the sound/performance? also would I not need to get a Hi-flow cat of some kind for back pressure reasons instead of just straight pipe from the header?

the problem with that is you have to buy an 02 simulator, but it not a big deal, i'm thinking about swapping to the DC header and taking the extention pipe out and replacing it with a ex cat. but still to find a sway bar, i think i can get one from the savage yard?
if i bought an kamikaze header and had 2.25 inch piping with aftermarket muffler would this run ok? just straight piping from the muffler to header with no resonator or cat? just wondering if this would run good because I've heard some people mention somethin about backpressure but just asking to make sure

ok, not to resurrect a dead thread, but just for my own knowledge: on an LX, the progression is this: new header -> aftermarket cat -> catback exhaust of choice. what did I miss?

(you also need an aftermarket or EX/HX oem front sway bar)
I'm not stupid I know this I am saying that no matter what header you buy for your lx you are going to lose your cat. I think I know a little more about the header situation than u considering I own an lx. And been here a little bit longer than you.

Its the same damn thing. And kamikaze is a hell of alot cheaper than some of the headers out there. Plus u can go in the for sale forum and get one for around $100.

I have an 04 LX and I didnt have to replace my swaybar when I put on my EX header, EX RandomTech, and Magnaflow catback.
Also, there was no need for O2 sim since I was able to extend the other O2 wire to hook it up after the cat on my RandomTech. No splicing either. Just plug-n-drive
But the loud droning sound is annoying me on long trips
Kamikaze have a great reputation as well as OBX headers. I'm still undecided between the two though. They are both dynotested and supposed to give you like 5-7 hp according to seller. I'm planning on getting the Kamikaze black high temp ones, I'll let you know.
hmm...5-7 hp gains...i guess that is pretty good.
But i rather get ceramic coated. Someone is sayin somethin like ceramic coated is lighter or something like that then stainless steal or somethin.
