I need a new intake!!

Hey guys

i Have a generic sri for my ex and its a piece of crap, where the bracket is welded to the pipe broke off and my intake is bouncing around everywhere. So I need to get a new SRI I'm thinking either AEM, Injen or FIPK2. I know this has been covered before and i know that most people think the fipk2 is the best, but the thing is its so expensive and its not like i will see great gains. So i was wondering what one is the loudest and sounds the throatiest?? I might be leaning towards the AEM, Injen let me know i want to get one soon.

Thanks for your help

FIPK II is more thraty sounding. AME is more high pitched.
Research this topic and and you will find from the dyno results that K&N gave 4.2 hp
while the others all gave around 2 hp

4.2hp!? lol i didn't even expect that...good to hear...i like my FIPK2...its way better than the AEM SRI i had before...

but if you just want the sound...go for the AEM SRI....u won't have to worry about hydrolock that way...one less thing to think of...

For one thing, which i didn't find out until now, the FIPK2 provides the best gains for our car. I knew it provided the best gains already, but i didn't think it would be 4.2hp (still gotta see that dyno). Honestly my car picks up better on the low end (as compared to the AEM SRI) which can most likely be thanks to the heat shield that comes with it. Second, the piping on the FIPK2 is plastic i believe, while the AEM SRI piping is metal. If sound is what you're looking for then go with the AEM SRI. My FIPK2 is very quiet, the only time it will get relatively loud is when I floor it, and even when I do floor it the sound won't happen until about 4k rpms. If I remember correctly, the AEM SRI would get loud a second right after I would floor it.

So, long story short: SOUND: AEM>FIPK2
PERFORMANCE: AEM<FIPK2
PRICE: AEM>FIPK2
VALUE (to me at least): AEM<FIPK2

Hope this helps! Good luck on choosing!

dyno

Sorry my bad it is 4.8 hp.

I like the K&N FIPK II better than the AME CAI I had installed because the
K & N FIPKJ II is made of a thick plastic that does not conduct heat.

THE AEM CAI piping gets so hot to the touch from radiant engine temps that it will take your fingerprints offf.

AEM was more tingy sounding.
it helped out in the top end

K & N FIPK II helped in the lower end helping bringing down my 1/4 mile times and would mage the tires chirp in 3 gears

if you have an automatic just get an AEM SRI. i say AEM because they are cheaper than Injen and FIPK, also I/H/E on our engines give us very minimal gains. the money to HP ratio is pretty bad.
