yep, I knew their retarded *** site was posting wrong info. Anyway, a while back, aem's cai had a dyno posted on their site which read a 8 hp gain and 6 torque or something like that for 2001+ ex/mt's. Now they have a new dyno which is probably more accurate ... why don't you see for yourself ... here

That's about right. WIth an intake, you only get a few horses at most. With my AEM, I lost low-end power. Yeah, FIPK is the best intake and gives gains low and high, but still not that good.
the hp gains do not justify the price, but if you have the money to spend and are willing to pay that much then go for it, you do gain a LITTLE bit, on the other plus side, it does add a nice touch to the engine bay looks

no matter what intake you get, its really not gonna add much at all.....the thing to do is just buy a used one or something for under $100. anyone who actually expected to gain 8hp from aem cai was not thinkin right

actually InJen posted dynos for our cars long ago too. I should have saved the damn jpg files. didn't think they'll take it down (but for good reasons)
they had this stupid comparison on their site.. injen vs. aem vs. stock
01 ex, 5spd.
stock: ~110-111 hp
aem: ~111-112 hp
injen ~113-114 hp
k&N fipk ~117 hp (just brought to my attention)
yeah sure injen did best.. (on their dyno) but thats till only 2-3 hp. lol.
pretty soon they realized thats not convincing for peopel to shell out $200 for a CAI that does 2-3 hp.. so they got rid of that dyno.
lol. poor us
remember though that all these numbers are the manufacture's number, so you should take them with a grain of salt? *shrug*

on another note. they still haven't changed the LX numbers.
I think they changed the EX numbers because the CAI was making 8 hp and etc. while their V2 was making only 5...
now they made it better.. CAI 2, V2 5.. wow buy a V2 NOW!
check out the numbers for LX on both... those numbers always blow me away.. a whooping 10 hp for the V2 for the LX, and like 6-8 hp for the LX with CAI.
someone should buy the v2 for LX and give a report of that 10 hp

I got one of the $20 cai deals off the ebay sidebar. The thing is an exact copy of an AEM. went on great and sounds cool. I like the name AEM on the intake pipe but for the 2 hp you might get its just not worth it. for $20+ shipping, I'm pretty happy. Just be sure to oil the filter before you put it in.
aem intakes suck period. I dont know why so many people get suckered into squandering their money on the ****in things. Its a damn pipe with the filter on the end of it they are all the same and the only reason aems are dyno proven is they have ripped off enough people to be able to afford the testing. Also im sick of california people using the carb sticker excuse ... a traffic stop is not an excuse for a cop to pop your hood thats an illegal search .. so in conclusion get a cheap *** intake, spend your money where it matters on other **** that will actually make your car fast. It is seriously NOT THAT HARD to put your stock airbox back on for smog purposes.
i wouldn't buy a cheap *** intake cause then it will just sap power away, plus the construction quality isn't as good. i know several people who thought there would be no difference, but then they got rid of the cheap intake and got aem.
My tape measure and calipers tell me that it's the exact same thing that my buddy down the street paid $200 for. My but tells me that it feels the same in the car. My ears tell me that it has the same cool sound (which is all I really wanted anyway). So I'm pretty happy with my cheap intake. Honestly though I would have got a nice one just cause I like having the nice stuff and some of the little things arent as good. Like the little hose that goes from the cam cover to the intake is a little off so the hose flexes all weird. But I am saving for suspension crap cause I need to turn harder before I worry about more power anyway. More then anything this intake was a fun project for an evening and it sounds cool. I'm fine with that, but deffinantly no prob with nice parts that fit better
sorry to say, but the whole intake/header/exhaust on 7thgens is a complete waste. dc sports was one of the first to dyno a 7thgen with the i/h/e and only gained about 3-4 hp. the only way to gain power on the 01-04 civics is forced induction and/or nos. or you can slap on some vinyl for some real horsepower! just don't forget your huge spoiler!

Intake is worth it if you hook it up to a bored tb and manifold and send it through a port and polished head. That will be the only way you can get alot of power out of that intake.
that is sweet, I think that the original dyno numbers were more fun because it is almost believable when you hear the intake you think that you have more power. After that wears off you can tell that you really didn't gain anything.
They had to fix the site to promote the V2...ha ha nothing like false dynos..
