Titanium exhaust

Ok, i happened to go by the metal recycling shop here in town and happened to come across an insane deal.....

3" 20 ft/ long straight sections of small guage titanium piping, and 3" titanium U-bends. They charge by the weight, and it is only $6 per pound. for 20 feet and 3 u bends it was less than $20.

So it looks like when i get a chance i will be making a titanium exhaust for my car. And yes, i know how to weld many different exotic metals and have all the serial numbers for the rod i need.

Cat you rule if it turns out good you should see if you can get more and build that turbo exhaust system you talked about out of it.

Were gonna make a cat back and turbo back exhaust system for boosted cars. Im not sure how much of the titanium i can get. They only had a few lengths of it. Ill see how much more i can get.

Our exhaust that will be available will be jet-hot coated.

Welding titanium is hard though, you've got to use a total inert gas atmosphere don't you? Otherwise it'll become all brittle. Do you just happen to have a TIG welder laying around?
