I have a 2002 HX, and i've put a AEM short ram intake, aerospeed header, and muffler. I want to add more hp... but don't know whether to do pulleys, cam gear, cams? I'm willing to spend the money... but don't want to spend it for nothing... i want something worth my money!

Do you just want more HP or do just want to go faster....
Because you dont nessisaily need one to do the other.....
Example: heres some cheep acceleraion for you. Run "short" tires. Like a set of 205/50-15s. what this does is shorten the final gear ratio of the car giving you quicker acceleration at the cost of top speed (Who actually needs top speed any way?)

It looks like you already spent it on nothing. Maybe you gained a few hp from all of that and lost some low-end power in the process.
The most promising cheap mod now is the DH-racing crank pulley. The whole intake/exhaust thing doesn't work on our cars.

or you could go n/a instead of turbo. More expensive, but a different approach. Check out www.dh-racing.com . You could get a PnP job, intake manifold, new valvetrain (valves, springs, retainers, camshaft), and maybe some 10.8:1 pistons. It's all about your personal choice. And yes; if you want a fast car, new tires are a must.
I agree with Jwalker on this. Everyone's doing turbo. Im trying to make my EX pretty fast without FI. Those boltons would be more effective with some internal work and maybe a shot of laughing gas.

Yes they do. It's the dual groove pulley in the group guy. It's now down from $185 to $155! Has two grooves and you just need to buy new belts to use the A/C and PS. I already ordered one.

I wouldn't necessarily get smaller tires. It will throw off your speedometer and odometer. To me, those are important. Other people disagree, tho. You could get lighter rims but that's expensive and you won't notice much in terms of acceleration.
I'd say the pulley from dh-racing is your best bet, if it turns out to be as awesome as everyone says it's going to be.

If you really want to go hardcore, take off the factory sound deadening. That stuff is heavy and it's all over the place. It doesn't help at all for road noise. I should have done that before adding dynamat and stuff.

Yeah, doesn't a cf hood for us only save like 15lbs? That's nothing. That's like 3 gallons of gas or something. I mean, it's helps, but you're not going to notice it I don't think.

every oz. counts, especially with a low HP car.

I see you have intake and exhaust, so you should get a high flow cat to maximize the flow since you're still pushing it through the puny stock cat and associated piping.
thats true...or at least the cat. The piping in the downpipe is actually pretty large...but if your state allows you to get an aftermarket cat, go for the Random Technology. They're CARB legal and very high flowing.
