lol@ how many times this question is asked but anyways...
IMO if i had the patience to save that much money up i would go with the K20 and boost!

i'd say save for the k20. and get one of the 4 stages of cybernation turbo kits later on. they have a stage 4 in the works they say will get upwards of 1000 hp, in their project rsx. they are already over 600, and say their stage 4 will be over 1000, that was last month in the modified magazine, and they were installing the new stage 4 turbo as of press time. they may already have it done. who knows?
it all depends on how much money you are willing to spend; and if you want to upgrade in increments or all at once. The thing about swapping is, BAM, you're out $7k in an instant. With building your D17, you can go as you get the money. You can definitely get more potential power out of the k20 though.

wish i had money...
k20 is obvoiusly the better idea for power. but everyone wants to do that, be original and deck out a d17, hehe... sad that being original has to be sticking with the stock engine...

r u askin bout d17 turbo vs. k20 swap?......i think the d17 turbo,
lease: but not a lot tho! hell no build it up.Sure in the long run maybe the k20 would be more powerfull. But I would be more pleased with myself/my vehicle if I took the stock engine and built it up.plus youd have to wait to come up with $10,000 till you could do teh swap OR you could start now and build up piece by piece! but thats just what I would do,if I wanted a K20 which I do i'll go out and buy an RSX-S (as soon as my wife lets me trade mine in).

do whatever you want... its your car... D17 can be JUST as fast as turbo K20 for less money,.... but some people like the bling factor of motor swap... i like the fun of beating a Sti with stock motor... LOL... thats more exciting...
I say do what you want. I like the swap first of course. But, What kind of internals are you taking about. If you talking about hooking it all up to make a fast all motor, thats kinda of a waste of time, because when you put the turbo in, your gonna have to take most of the stuff off. To Boost high on a turbo you want lower compression. To gain mucho horsepower on you all motor you want High compression. See what i'm saying. Carefull on what you build up before you turbo, or it could be a waste of money and time. So you need to pick a route... All motor or Force induction! Good luck on what ever you do, and keep me informed.

b - series in 7thgen is more than possible, mount kit should be out real soon if not already, but thats like putting older tech in a newer car... i dont like that idea too much
i got my car back 2 weeks ago. we did internal work . turbo my d-17 . i have it set on 18-20 lbs boost and i hit 402 hp. without my nitrous. stick with the stock buddy. for the turbo and internal work it costed me 5,500. to get the k20 and swap it would be like 10 grand if u threw a turbo on it
does it have to be street legal? cuz you can only swap in a motor equal or newer than the car. Get either the rx7 or rx8 Rotary engine; theyre like the size of a suitcase, and make crazy power. Im pondering saving up all my money towards a custom rx8 swap right now...that would be so sweeet.

actually i was reading some where that the engine doesnt actually have to be newer...it just has to have equal emmisions as the car your swpping into......but i guess since we have ULEV vehicles it would be kinda hard =)
