http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2438912711

this may have been posted, but i was wondering if this is a piece of crap or something. because most intakes dont fit all models. anyway, just wondering what you all thought about. it looks kind of funny

That looks like a piece of crap. I would Just go with an AEM Cold Air or an Injen intake. Don't ruin your car with crap. Although I'm pretty sure it is worth something and can offer some power gains.

i have one, and I like it. It was a bitch to install, cuz I had to bend the little bracket and dremel off some of the carbon fiber look plastic to get the hood prop to go down, but did it easily in a day. If you don't like the carbon front sucking thing, then you can easily take it off and have an sri. My advice is to buy it; until you do crazy upgrades, an intake doesnt do a whole lot anyway, so why not get one that's cheap and looks good?

that 20hp was a joke. nm. I think it's a good intake, and if you want an aftermarket intake, but don't want to spend $150 or however much an AEM is, then this is a good intake, especially for the money.

Installing an intake is pretty simple... I did mine in under 30 mins with the help of the DIY on this forum.
If you don't think you can do it.... ask a friend. Or if worse comes to worse... take it to a performance shop and have them install it for a fee.

Injen cold air Its the only way to go. If you're looking for just an SRI, just get anything with a good cone filter.

Just buy an Injen or AEM short ram they are your best bets. That scoop directed that way will suck up rain water. To me it just does not seem like a good idea.

The intake is a portion of power in any motor build, but it is not by any means every going to give you the considerable HP everyone is looking for. A piece of crap short ram intake is the best route. AEM robs everyone with there cold air, when in reality a tube that long become restrictive, but ohhh no they don't ever tell the public that they just lead you to believe that COLD air will be that more powerful. Get a junker, if you want some help building that beast we are working on a few D17's, and have a couple running mid 12's in the 1/4 right now. Drop me a line, not trying to act as if we know it all just willing to help anyone who needs it.

Also email me with sponsorship proposals we do offer them. 13 years in the industry, so you can trust our work.

install is no prob...an intake was my first real upgrade, and the AEM CAI install DIY on this site gives you the hardest stuff...if you can call any of that hard.

I think that is looks cheap, IMO. but for 75$ why not.
I always thought that the K&N FIPK <--(?) has the best gains all around. But K&N cost $230. Someone correct me, is the K&N FIPK the best??

no intake is worth $230...unless of course you've seriously built your motor, in which case $230 is nothing...anyway, I'm probably going to be replacing the kone filter on this with a K&N...where's the best place to get one? And what measurements do I need to take?

Just get a simple short ram intake which you can find on ebay for like $25. Add a filter like you are saying and you are set. If you want some work I can do a custom manifold with billet throttle body for your motor and you will see some serious gains.

The best short intake is the K&N FIPK II. It has a heatshield to prevent hot air from entering, and more importantly, THERE'S NO LOSS OF LOW END TORQUE! That's a common complaint from every other intake.

The only downside is that it's pretty expensive. I got mine for $170 from a groupbuy, but I think they're usually $200-230.

Here's a pic from my ride. Sorry for the grainy quality.

Way too expensive. Get any one from ebay for dirt cheap, put a nice K&N filter on it, and let me handle the rest with power. We have to 7th Gen civics in the 12's right now, and one we are about to have in the 10's.

I am going to get one of those also. I live in NC and the company that markets them is here. I think I will buy quite a bit of stuff and just pick it up.

i like it very much, but im going for as much go as i can get. Ergo, I'm going for a FIPK II, which has shown the best gains for our car. Theres nothing wrong with this intake, especially for the price, but there are better ones out there, such as the FIPK (but they cost $200)

well, if you want to install it right, its a bit harder. There were only 2 really difficult parts for me. One was discovering that there's a band holding the stock airbox onto the throttle body, and the other was getting the front of that carbon fiber scoop thing to attach. Also, I dremeled part of the plastic out; otherwise the hood prop doesnt go down all the way, and it doesnt clip in like it's supposed to. It's mostly common sense though. If you run into any problems, just shoot me a PM and i'll help as soon as I see it.
