I've got it but havent installed it yet... it should help since its a high flow cat and it will open the air flow up a little. It also has both O2 sensor bungs so it shouldnt trigger any engine codes. I'll definitly post once i get it installed! Only thing is thats its for the EX only, I guess an LX could use it but they'd need an EX header and EX exhaust....

i looked at and it says Carb legal but i thought there was something else about you cant replace the cat and that would be illegal? is it? also would it be better to get a full cat back first or is it ok if we get this?

the cat will pass smog.
although its illegal to replace your stock cat unless its damaged, or after a certain period of miles... (we're talking about 50,000 + )...
so its legal/illegal. heh.
depending on the smog check place too.. they may do a visual inspection, or some just plug in the car and start checking if something is up.
and depends on state laws too... obviously some doesn't have any smog laws.. but most state has a replacing cat law though... its a federal emission law, last I check.
btw Rob, how much do you have the random tech cat for?

yes; the hp header bolts right up to the stock downpipe, right? THis replaces directly the downpipe and cat. So...would me taking a screwdriver to my stock cat certify it being "damaged"?

it doesnt make sense cause if you replace it yourself couldnt you just say it was damagned and thats why you did, and what do you mean by visual inspection, so even if we have all carb legal parts we may not pass or what? i live in santa barbara, san diego does it matter?
its completely emissions legal, but I know in Virginia it's just illegal to replace the cat before 50K, or like 5 years, or if it is "declared damaged my a licensed professional" or some **** like that. If I get it, im going to jack up my car, go at it with a skill saw, and then drive to the shop and be like "umm, i think my catalytic converter is damaged; what do you know, I just happen to have this one laying around!"

lol... you probably could get away with that. The law doesn't state that you can't damage the cat yourself. lol
Anyways, how much is tornactive charging for the cat?

its $295 on the website: http://www.tornactive.com/pd_rt_high...nda_accord.cfm
And that's shipped; minus the 5% discount, right?

the cat is welded to the downpipe, just like the stock. I know it doesnt look like it in the picture, but if you got to Random Technology's website, you'll see a picture of the actual product.
go to the random technology website...they have an article (not by them, by a magazine; has nothing to do with Random Tech, just cat's in general). THey use a brick design. Essentially, its pretty easy to make a high flow cat, its just more expensive. And the only reason it comes with a downpipe, i think, is because they're attached.
http://www.randomtechnology.com/ .... comon people, gotta apply some common sense here.
hmm...maybe you misspelled it? Anyway, the pic of the Civic converter isn't there, but I think it's on www.modacar.com that it has the downpipe.

"...Please note that no aftermarket catalytic converters are legal for installation in California on OBD II vehicles (some 1994 & 1995, and all 1996 and later vehicles..."
