How long did your clutch last
Well My car is a year old and has 14,000 Miles on it. The Clutch is shot. I through it on the rack and took it apart. Man the clutch disc was completely gone. The pads that are riveded to the disc were gone all I had was fibers every where. Plus the front motor mount was broke. So I am replacing it with a Clutch Net Three stage six spring disc and pressure plate, and Clutch Net Light Weight Flywheel.
So I was wondering if anyone else is as hard on there clutch as I am?

i have over 135,000 on my daily driver/racer, have not replaced my clutch since i've had it and i occasionally squeeze conservative, it could just be your driving style and/or driving city all the time. most of mine are highway miles but my last 20,000 have been a lot of city do to my relocation of work.
I sure wish my car was newer

lol. If you're saying we should race, um, go ahead. Come on down. The Civic is auto. If I race, I take my dad's car. It's manual, has more cylinders, and just a few more hp
51k, still runnin like a champ, but i've replaced my brakes twice now, so maybe i'm runnin my brakes harder and not down shiftin as much? i dunno, but my clutch is perfect, sorry for ur problems...

LOL
I sound like a two year old? Who's the guy calling out other people to race who live eight hours away? It's sure as hell not me. Oh, and excuse me for actually taking a real car out when I race instead of an econobox.
btw - my dad didn't pay a cent for my civic or any of the mods I made

I'm at 26,000 and I'm hearing this "skweaky" noise when being depressed. Sounds like a quiet "who" Anybody know what that could be?

MY POINT IS IT'S STILL YOUR DAD'S CAR. Why are even on this sight if your going to **** talk the very thing that it is for. All your mods must be for **** if you still have to take daddy's car

Mine makes that squeeky noise also. Mainly when it's cold, and before it's had time to get worked around. My noise sounds like it's coming from the front right part of the car, which is where they tranny is.

Whats wrong with racing in an econo box? as long as its done right that is
In the corners, a mildly preped civic can out run a stock Corvette....... and I have proof too.
Tire rack SCCA Solo 2 National Results 2003
By the numbers..... Corvette = AS My class = STS
Fastes time by an AS car........(93 Chevrolet Corvette)112.937 seconds
Fastes time by an STS car......(89 Honda Civic Si)112.836 seconds.
thats a tenth faster........ So maybe Horse power really isnt everything.
Oh ya, before the nay sayers pop up and say that the civic has to have a turbo or engine swap.... It dosn't, Not legal in its class. only Basic boltons, Headder Exaust and intake....
Lovin Autocross.
mine squeeks a lil bit when i push in the clutch, but it basically soudns like i need to oil it up... if you take it to the dealership they'll do that for free, there's been a buncha problems w/ clutch squeeking in our vics
my car is at like 25,000 and the clutch is good and i drive very hard race everyday, anyway who said they would hook me up witha clutch, thinking of changing it soon and getting a flywheel

To answer you question, yes you were too hard on the clutch.
Do you ever rev it up then dump the clutch? Yea dont do that anymore.
Do you ever downshift at a pretty high speed for that lower gear and Not rev match? Yea dont do that either
BTW you should know this, just cause its a "racing" clutch doesnt mean its going to last as long as the stock clutch its probably not going to last as long. But probably longer than the 15,000 miles you had on your stock clutch...Just drive better now dont dump the clutch too much that just wears the **** out of it

Zzyzx - I've talked to you about my interest in auto-x. I was talking about straight-line acceleration.
justplainbad - I don't remember talking crap about my car. I do, however, remember being realistic about my car. It's an econobox. It got 4 cylinders, gets >30 miles per gallon, and is ULEV.
Anyway, when I got my car, I couldn't drive stick. I have since learned, and what's wrong with it if I take my dad's car out when I wanna let loose? If your dad drove a Ferrari (not that mine does) and you drove a Civic, would you still say the same thing? If I can drive a nicer and faster car on the weekend, why shouldn't I go for it?
