Question K series parts

Hey guys I got a small question. Since all k series motors are basically the same, would any parts for the rsx, rsx-s, or any other k series fit the k24a1 in the honda crv? My dad has a 2002 and wants to add some more power for a little sleeper. He wants a catback and intake system. I know the catback will have to be custom, but what about the intake and header? ON the catback, anybody know of any good places in South Florida that can do a good job, you know mandrel bend, stainless steel?

Thanks guys

RSX intakes would fit the CR-V. You may want to check a CR-V forum like this one:
www.gocrvclub.org

The K24 in the CR-V is a little different than the one in the new Accords, and of course different than the K20s in the RSX/RSX-S. It makes way more tq down low than any other K series, since it has the most weight to pull around, but it doesn't rev as high like the others either.

if i was him or you, i'd look into what makes the K24 in the TSX so potent. Try to swap as much as possible with it.

mate a type S head on there and put the toda cams/ECU in it. it'll be rather costly but in the end you'd have one hell of a CRV

ok so tell me, if 2 cars race, (1) RSX Type S, (2) LX coupe w/ a stock K24 from a CRV, who would win?

i know the type S can rev higher, but the civic will have more torque. does it even out the power distribution in there somewhere? just curious u know... pls. give me ur (educated) 2 cents. pls none of the I heard that......

Alex1,

The lx with the k24 would win the launch, but the rsx-s would probably take u in the top end. Remember torque is what gets u going, but its horsepower that determines how fast you would go.So by the time the lx hits its redline, the rsx would still be screaming into vtec and taking the lead. What you would want is a balanced motor with horsepower and torque.

Supposedly someone has already done this whole swap with an '02 CR-V overseas, I saw a pic, it was AWESOME!!! If only I could find it now . I would love a 200hp CR-V that looks stock on the outside. Major sleeper!!!

What about a K24 block with RSX-R's head? Dunno, if it's possible...

I think that's basically what the K24 in the TSX is, it has good low end tq, plus the ability to rev and make high-end power like the K20 in the RSX-S/Type R.

You beleive that a K24 would fit in our cars? I've been told that it's too big for our cars.

Well, looking at my wife's CR-V and my '03 Civic side by side in our garage with the hoods open, the K24 looks damn big next to my puny D17. I think I have displacement envy!!!! But that being said, it may fit with some engine bay cutting, we know the K20 fits, so the K24 can't be that much bigger.

whey people do K20 swaps instead of K24???

Right now, it's more popular, and cheaper, to do the K20 swap. The K24 swap would be more expensive.

Right, more expensive, but probably not impossible. Someone on here with $$$ flowing from their pockets needs to attempt this...
