I am looking to do something about the lighting on my 99 Acura 1.6L EL ( honda civic basically). In the area that i drive frequently there is no street lights and a lot of wildlife. Currently my headlights are not giving out enough light to feel safe at night driving these roads. One lens is fine but the other lens is a little faded. I am either looking to add extra lighting such as a LED bar or spotlights, or possible changing the headlight housing and adding HID lights on.
I am looking for any suggestions on anything I could do or add to my vehicle to increase its lighting on the road. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. The local automotive store is of no help since all they told me to do was to scrub the lens and get sylvania headlight bulbs as there best suggestion.
I have also noticed people adding light strips either on there hood of there car or on the roof. This is also another option I would consider but again have limited resources on them. If you know of any please let me know about it.

Check out www.theretrofitsource.com for info on retrofitting. Retrofitting your stock headlights with projectors and HID's is an easy and efective way of upgrading your headlights. I did my 01 and it made a huge difference.

Yeah gonna have to bump my post from before. The retro fit site is not helpful at all. very difficult to navigate and can;t even find lights that meant for my vehicle.
Need some help please not just a generic reply to a website for hits.

Re: Headlight options
Your not going to find anything that is meant for your vehicle. Its a universal application that is matched by the type of OE bulb that your car has.
That website used to have a great section that explained everything about retrofitting. You asked for suggestions or ideas, I gave you one. Now research about it and see if its what you want to do.
The original suggestion's from the automotive store are valid and would make a big difference depending how hazed your lenses are.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
