double projectors?

Hey guys I wanted to start looking into retrofitting my stock housing with projectors. I've got an 05 with DDM tuning HIDs already and I see it's easily done, but I was wondering if anyone has done regular AND high beam projectors? I know that the morimoto mini's are bi-xenon so that'd be overkill, but I think more projectors would look awesome (the high beam projector doesn't necessarily need to be functional). Not sure if anyone has been able to fit them in the stock housing yet?

Re: double projectors?

Thanks Gearbox! I searched forever and couldn't find those! I wanted to ask, but would you know if anyone has completely blacked out the housing and maybe painted the shrouds different colors? I wanted to get a little creative with the stock housing/color combinations, if you have pictures or know where I could find some I'd appreciate it

Re: double projectors?

Beautiful! Just wondering, but could you paint the chrome where the blinkers are? I know it'll kill the output, but it'll still flash for the people in front of me...

I was thinking of doing red shrouds what do you guys think? Was also wondering about mixing the shrouds on the regulars and the high beam. Think that'd look funny?

Re: double projectors?

You could paint the blinker reflector but your turn signal probably wouldn't be visible during the day. And the red shrouds wouldn't look natural, i say don't do it lol.

Re: double projectors?

Maybe if I changed my bulb to something brighter it'd be okay?

Re: double projectors?

eh, i would leave some of it chrome. yeah you can do whatever you feel like, but all black and colors will leave the lights looking dull.

Well I think I'm going to leave the blinker chrome alone just for safety and possibly law reasons.

What're your thoughts on mixing shrouds? Like gatling gun 2.0 for the main lights and gatling mini for the high beams?

Re: double projectors?

Well the Gatling Gun 2.0 shrouds measure:
Depth - 60mm
Width at front - 85mm
Width at rear - 120mm

The Mini Gatling gun measures:
Depth - 52mm
Width - 90mm
Height - 90mm

Another option could be the Morimoto Matchboxes:
Max Depth - 110mm
Max Height - 55mm
Max Width - 75mm
Lens Diameter - 46mm
Depth required inside housing to mount - 45mm

The measurements for the Matchboxes don't look to include the shrouds. But they come with special mini shrouds so I assume they'd be small enough to fit. Would I be looking at a lot of custom work to get any of these in the stock headlights?

Re: double projectors?

Can someone explain how the morimoto matchboxes wire up? Since I'd be getting the morimoto mini H1's do the pigtails just splice into the wires that go to the mini's?
