Help installing HID's with projector?
Help installing HID's with projector?
I bought an HiD/Ballast kit off some site and a set of projectors on ebay. The projectors have 3 holes, i's assuming that the clouldy one is for the hids and the other is for the normal high beams and the last is for the blinker. I put all of the bulbs in, the hid is only for low beam only. As you can see, there are two power plugs that go into the ballast, which power the Hid's. There is also a three prong plug with four wires coming out of it. Two ground and a blue and a red. This plug fits directly on the stock plug in the car. Which wires am i connecting where? Here's how I think it should go. The red and black from the HID plug into the red and black coming out of the back of the plug. The blue and black that are left over go into the normal bulb. If the red is normal beam, then this should turn the hid on when the light is turned on and the blue will turn the other bulb on which is the highbeam. no? I included the picture of all i have including the original bulb (which had a three prongs that plugged directly into the one in the car), which i wont be using anymore.
Thanks a lot for any help!

Re: Help installing HID's with projector?
you dont have the wiring harness to install those properly. quite a bit is missing. if those are tyc projectors for 01-03 civic, this will work. just grab a few things from www.partsexpress.com like the ring terminals, relay/holder, and fuse holder, and some wire from the auto store, and some soldering iron and supplies.

You probably dont want to hear this, but I say scrap those all together save and buy a quality kit. I am pretty sure withing the first few months those bulbs will die out. On top of that running that harness is not a good idea. Lastly the parts that gearbox listed is what is needed in order to do a correct install.
Yea, making your own harness is cheaper, but if you just buy a complete quality kit with the harness already its better off, especially if your not good with electric.
