Rep Power: 0 Guys, I work at RadioShack, I think my manager would prolly let me borrow 3 or 4 of the FRS Fm radios, and I have 2 already, so as long as I get 'em back, I can help us out a bit in that situation

Rep Power: 0 Hey see if you can get those walkie talkies....
Me and my friend tried using them while we were driving, but it didn't turn out to be that clear. I think it's probably because they were some cheap ones. In any account, all of the bay area hosts have cell phones

Rep Power: 0 Sorry about the 2 blank posts
I just wanna let you guys know that if you want a place to stay during the meet. I might be able to hook up rooms where I work the best deal I could get is $79 a night +taxes (maybe 2 per room so you could split the bill say $45 per person). By the way this is on el camino real in millbrae (you wanna pass el camino anyway right?) I know the prices are high but that's the best i could do... Let me know if you guys are interested....

Rep Power: 0 Just so everyone knows. THE MEET IS ON JULY 19TH-21ST. Thats Friday-Sunday. We are going to plan this soon but so everyone knows, We will have it together. The major concern was the date, We have the date it is set and will not change so go ahead and make plans to come down that weekend. For the people that want to be a part of the planning you MUST come to the bay area meet or put there input on this thread. Other wise we dont know what you want to do. This is going to be a big meet so we are going to do our best to plan for all 3 days and still give you time to see SF on your own if you want. We have 3 full months till the meet so we do still have alittle time.

Rep Power: 0 um okay i think i just spent like twenty minutes reading this thing! lol!
San Francisco: July 19th through 21st! Sounds good!
Ideas:
if everyone tries to stay in the same hotel and you tell them that atleast 20 peeps are staying there as a group you might be able to get a discounted rate on rooms.
perhaps everyone should email their addresses to someone to start a sort of mailing list. thus we can create some sort of packet that contains phone numbers, maps, itineraries, local resturants, tourist attractions, etc. etc. etc.
I don't mind heading up the mailing list thing, but i'll need some help with the cost for postage and stuff! But I can get some of the stuff from my work (like envelopes, copies... etc...)
So, if you're planning on coming email me yer name and address and stuff... my email is grl_rcr@yahoo.com

Rep Power: 0 Ok here's how thing's are going to happen cause this thread is getting a little long. A couple of us that have actually participated in the BayArea meets are going to forum a committee to decide what we are going to do for the West coast meet. The reason we are forming this committee is because of the turn out on our meet yesterday. We had about 15 people say they were coming and only 5 people showed up. Out of those 5 people NO one was a new person. So we are going to decide what's happening at the meet. But understand that we what other peoples input I just don't want the final say to be made by someone who cant even make it to our local meets. If you can tell I am a little bitter about people not showing up to our meet. That's my biggest pet peeve, people say their coming and never show up. So please start email me at My2k1Civic@aol.com with all your suggestions and I will talk to the other people on the committee and post updates on this thread. I Dont want this to sound like I dont want your say, I just am trying to make this meet the best for the people that travel hella far and have the meet organized by people who dont show. Hope you understand!

Rep Power: 0 hey all.. alright, this thread is getting too long! it takes forever for me to find where i left off!
am i noticing some hostility between members? com'on guys! i see bill's point, i always look forward to meeting up with you guys! and yesterday, i have to admit, was a disappointment. i'm not asking for anyone to tell my why they didn't show up. just be aware that since we've all gotten together so often we are starting to look forward to these things, and are willing to drive anywhere from 30 minutes to and hour and 30 minutes just to kick it. so i hope you guys can understand where bill and the rest of us are coming from.
the offical count is now TWO! if you're planning on coming, email me directly! grl_rcr@yahoo.com when we are closer to the meet we'll put together a bunch of stuff that has local members' number, tourist stuff, etc. etc. etc. so that's how we'll keep an offical count, by how many people email me. so EMAIL ME!
even the locals can email me as well, that was we know how many people to expect. (jason, bill, ryan, victor, zell, etc. etc. etc. this means you! and you guys should include your phone numbers as a reference for the out-of-town-ers)
when you email me include:
actual name
forum name
full address
obviously yer email address
and if you're planning on bringing people... how many?
if you need a hotel room... for how many nights
thanks everyone! hope everyone's planning their road trips and such!

Sup dude... yeah I'm going. I live in Riverside county so OC is near me on the way up. I'm drivin' up with my brother, Eviltwin, so we can all follow each other up if you wanna... also I might stop at a person's house along the way and I don't know what days you're gonna wanna go up there and what not.
