94 civic non vtec

I'm buying my first honda soon and i just found out its not vtec. what do i need to make it vtec? i know there are conversion kits but ever kit i see, is different. its a 94 Honda Civic Lx i believe. if anyone could tell me, thank you!

I would say if the motor runs good, leave it alone. People often get the idea that vtec is better than non-vtec. Not necessarily the case, I'm just going to assume that since you have a 94 Civic LX it probably has the D15B7, you are probably wanting to swap the non vtec head with a head equipped with vtec....I would say look up all specs of the D-series motors on Wiki, then go with the drastic measures of deciding if you really want to tear that good non vtec head off. Please lemme know what your thoughts are on this response.

He does have a point. However, if you feel you need to have vtec, you would have to find either a mini me swap motor, or a d16z6 head and the wiring accordingly. But, like he said, a non-vtec motor can be just as fast as a vtec motor, you just need a little bit more money.
