www.hmotorsonline.com

Why don't you just go with a k20a2 and build the internals a little bit.. You would end up with more hp, more fun, and about the same amount of money invested.
Hell, I would even consider a k24a4 with and boost for the price of the "mad jdm tyte" k20a.

Re: Where Can I Find A K20?

enging swap and cheap dont go hand and hand.I would say 8 to 10 g's for a good turbo'd swap. When I have the space and it is a financially sound decision I will buy an older civic as a "hoopdy" and go all out with my 02. Depending on my budget at the time it will be either a k20 swap turbo or a ex headswap with turbo (i have an lx). Now if I was 16 again and had the means but still a tight budget I would go for reliability. Build up the internals and such and go NA or a turbo with a mild boost between 6 and 10 psi. That is just me though. I grew up poor :-P

Re: Where Can I Find A K20?

^I agree, but only to an extent. I would definitely go the n/a route simply out of reliability. If you're thinking about doing a full k20a2 swap (low miles) just for engine/tranny/axles/ecu/harnesses/etc/etc you're going to be looking at somewhere around $6k. I would save up the money for that and have it shipped, and after it gets there I would tear it apart and start ordering skunk2's entire damn catalog along with some higher compression pistons and keep it all n/a just out of fun. If you're wanting to go the boost route I would recommend just researching the k24 out of the cr-v.. It's low compression so it will obviously hold more boost and you have more room to reliably play. With high compression if you go up or down a single psi you're going to notice it, with the k24a4 (I think that's the one out of the cr-v) you'll be able to be off by a single pound and it won't make that big of a difference.

Just do a whole hell of a lot of research man.. I thought about doing work to my car a while back but decided against it and spent the money on going back to college.. But I still to this day couldn't make a decision as to what I would do. One day I would love to have a k20a2 w/a 9000+ redline, the next I would love to have a k24 with 15 psi safely.
