Stock Internal Specs, S/C Q, & Info Needed
Ok, bit of a question here. I have a mustang, and I've been into nothing but the domestic American muscle market, but other than how things work, I know next to nothing about the specifics Civics offer.
A buddy of mine at work just bought a 93 Civic (DX I believe) that he would like to build up with my help. I've pretty much told him to go F/I right off the bat if he really wants some power.
So here is my question, about how much hp can a stock Civic hold up to. Like I said, I know pretty much Mustangs for specifics, but have no clue about Civics. Mustangs tend to be good up to around 400 whp stock before the internals start running into trouble for example
So far I have him set up to do an Eddelbrock intake swap, headers, 62mm TB, light porting/polishing on the heads, catback exhaust, one or two other things I can't think of. He really has been thinking about a VTEC swap, but I'm no so into it, as any engine can be made fast.
Also, what S/C brand is one of the best to look for. Like for Mustangs Vortec and Procharger are your best, and Paxton is one to stay away from.
Sorry for the long post, but I need some holes filled before I start helping him rip his engine apart, because he really isn't looking at new forged internals quite yet.
